Anyone majoring in MPA? I major in English education in China and now wanna change it . But I dont know much about MPA or other majors? How is the job prospect? Thanks

Job prospect? Not very good, at least in China. It all depends on what career path you are following. If you want to make a fortune, then MPA is not a good choice indeed.

I live in NYC and will stay here. some of them in big co. and governemnt earn good money at learst $30000 a year. But I am not sure if I can seize the job opportunity.

$30000?

$30000 is good in NYC? That is not very encouraging. Anyway, if you want a job in NYC, I suggest you take a degree program at NYU, which is mainly focused on demestic issue of US.

the base amount is like that. the maxium is 80000 but you have to have experience right? I only have teaching experience of a year and a half.
NYU's tuition is too high I dont have the money. I am considering colleges at lower level like baruch college.

I was admitted by a MPA program in a US university.

Since you are in NYC, why don't pick some more lucrative career path like law or business? You are more likely to find a decent job with those degrees than with an MPA, I suppose.

congratulations!
I have thought of more profitable career but some other considerations come to my mind.
I major in English education in a very ordinary university and has worked for one year and a half as a teacher. NO paper. And Ive never learned economics and statistics. I am afraid it is more difficult to apply and study. I thought you applied for MBA or somthing.
I dont know how can I write my PS catering to the taste of professors and the papers that professors put on line is quite difficult to find. Have you tried www.paapply.com. I dont know which link is right to do research.
Do you have some experience or advice to share? I havnt written my PS and resume. Thank you!
