68) Some people believe that the purpose of education is to free the mind and the spirit. Others believe that formal education tends to restrain our minds and spirits rather than set them free.

Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your own position and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented.

Education is a very important part in a whole nation’s development,and many people claim that the standard education has been on the way that distant from its original purpose,which is to free the mind of people and spirit.In order to have a deep insight into the topic about whether the education could achieve its goals or not,I believe it’s necessary to consider the different group of people,since people’s talents vary from person to person,and it’s natural that education will influent them in different ways.
First of all,for those people who has excellent skills in science field,such as mathamatics and physics,standard education will lay a solid foundation for their knowledge restoration and definitely benefit their future development,thus they could free their mind to use their discovery to change the world.Since in science field,to make a progress or discovor the innovated findings usually calls for the deep and wide knowledge the person could command,so to free their mind,the education is the best way for them to get access to the knowledges.For example,Ramanujon,a famous Indian mathematician,make several progress in math history during the time that he study in the Oxford university.However,before that he could not go to any formal institute to do more research,and only learn math in a relatively slow pace.If  it’s not for an opportunity to go to university,he may never get the chance to free his mind in the searching for the real science.Thus we could see how important standard education mean to these people.
However,when it comes to those people who are skillful at engineering,such as computer engineering or mechanical engineering,practice in their fields will be equally important in their cultivation of talents,education still play some part in this situation.Just look at the engineer students in the universities,they need to take a variety of courses for their knowledge base,but at the same time they are always required to finsh some projects that needs the synthesized knowleges they learned from the formal class.And these are always more important for their future than the formal class education.For ME students they may need to make some machines to actualize some funtions so that they could be used for constructiongs of buildings and so on,CE students they may need to program softwares which may be used in the companies and institutes.This actual skill is actually the engineering students’ way to free their mind so that they could make contribution to the society,otherwise their knowledge from the class will never be useful at all.
In addition,to those people who are born to readily socialize with people,and have the desire to improve themselves in fields such as business,accounting,standard education seems to be only application in their development,only by practicing a lot could they expand their horizon,and most importantly, free their mind rather than stay in the class ,so that they won’t strifle their actual skills developing.For example,Bill Gates,a famous name in America that encourage many people to do pioneering jobs,dropped out from the university to plan for his Microsoft Empire and finally made it.The reason that he could make such a huge success is that he discovor that the university could not teach him anything practical in his future,which means he could not be freed from the stereotyped class and get exercised in the business field,so his choice goes.Thus,in this situation,education may strifle these people’s talents.
In conclusion,I believe for different people,the situation will also be different since their talents will lead them to different ways,and as I mentioned,different field will get distinct level of benefits from the education.Because the education could only provide the spirit inspire in the most elementary aspects.

To begin with, the attention from the public after a scandal does not necessarily focus on the right issue. (Topic sentence) Take the Clinton scandal and impeachment for example. With the release of Starr report, the Clinton scandal has attracted the national and even international media attention. But the majority of American people seem to find it more interesting to talk about whether or not President Clinton had sex with Monica Lewinsky. They would even get into the debate over whether oral sex would count as sex.(Information) But the real issue that should capture public attention is whether or not the President had lied and still deserved the trust of American people. With the media always interested in reporting sensational news, the Clinton scandal failed to focus public attention on the right issue and therefore was not very useful for the development of American politics.
