那天说话很冲，但是也是据理力争。因为我相信即使你不给我签证，我花了100美元，也应该受到公正的对待，咱们必须把道理说清楚了。虽然约了12：35，但那天进去的时候已经快14：00了。坐了一会儿，定了定，看见lshz拒人无数，尤其看见他脸上那种轻蔑的表情，一幅对中国人不屑的样子，真是让我无法忍受，真希望我也能碰着他，好好地修理他一番。但是长头发的金发mm叫了我们这一对。我等啊等，一直到快4点左右，才到了我，她比较客气，但我确实有情绪，尤其是我只准备了第一年的钱，她问我怎么只有这么点钱，我说：学校就要求我提供第一年的银行证明，但是我在不同的银行有不同货币的不同账户，可我没有必要带过来给你看。诸如此类的争辩很多（在此不细说签证经过了），觉得自己第一次这么eloquent，最后我能感觉出来签证官很不爽，但是她却不得不给我签证。因为美国是按照法律办事情，虽然签证有很多主观因素，但是尊重事实，尊重法律是前提。拿到签证的时候，真有点不知所措，脑子里一片空白，但我知道我迟早会拿到签证的，因为这一次如果不行的话，我下次还回来的，已经走到这一步了，我是不会轻易放弃的。感谢chirac, hehui, maidu, xiaoyaogogo, maplew, shopping, maxime, zhangyi以及其他诸位mpa同路人一直以来对我的支持和鼓励，尤其在我被比较郁闷的时候，给我加油，为我鼓劲，你们给了我无穷的力量和永不言败的信心。同时也祝愿maidu签证成功，我们说好了我们是一个team，从申请学校开始一直到现在，都是并肩作战。

can you tell us more about the application process like how to write your PS catering to the taste of professors, how to search the paper of professors etc.

Because MPA program is professional training, which means you will study courses of different professors, you do not have to pay too much attention to the professors nor their papers. It's not like applicants of natural sciences. I wasted much in this, but it seemed not that useful.

I should remind you that you'd better pay more attention to what kind of schools you will apply. Write different essays catering to different types of schools. As far as I know you may want to present three important virtues of yourself, e.i. commitment to public service, leadership and intelligence. This can be presented from you PS, recommendation letters, your GPA, GRE, etc. I think all the elements are equally important, but maybe P.S and your working experience are more important.
