I realize many people are confused whether take the SAT to apply US colleges as undergraduate students. From my passed experience, it definately helps if you dare to make a best try.7 ]4 a; H, D* F1 O- k

For me, I took twice SAT I and once SAT II. SAT I give me $19000 and SAT II give me placement advantages. I entered university in Jan 2004 as a freshman, but I am a Junior now, so SAT II is of some use. And if you want to get into Ivy league, I strongly recommend you take the SAT II4 N9 h9 }. }5 s5 G# ?3 M2 f

Some people think that it is of no use to take SAT, I don't agree. If it is of no use to take SAT, then it is of no use to take GRE in this logic. SAT definitely helps you to get the huge scholarship you want as an undergraduate student

And for SAT II, I took the biolgoy, physics and math II. Biology is quite tough as you really have to pace yourself in order to answer all the questions you are most comfortable of. Physics is easy, but you have to read some history about physics, and also the thermodynamics, the relativity, Einstein's stuff, ect. For math II , it is really a piece of cake. Just do it and don't affraid whether you lose it! No pain no gain!!!

SATIIs only exam high school knowledge, I never heard SATIIs can help you to get college credits. Only Advanced Placement Tests can. I would like to know which university you are in.

Yes, you can take ACT however SAT is more popular. Yet ACT covers a wider-spread of knowledge. I am sure you have no problems about the content of ACT. But one advice, can you understand the scientific terminologies of ACT in the science-section. It is not to your advantage to take ACT and the revision materials are not plenty. SAT is more popular and the revision materials are easier at search. :) you can buy the books from www.ebay.com, www.amazon.com. Check their shipping costs if they are relatively cheap to your knowledge. I am not sure if you can buy them in China

To No. 7: sorry i'd like to make a moderation to my comment. SAT II is of tremendous advantage of applying top schools like Ivy League. It is of some use to not so fancy schools like faileigh dickinson University which i myself is enrolled in. My transfer credits were obtained from Singapore which is a whole different story. I am sorry about the accuracy of my previous comment. Since I believe the high school students are enthusiastic enough to apply Ivy league schools, so I encourage them to take SAT II as it's of tremendous advantages to them if they are applying the very top schools of US.

btw i realize many people have viewed this article, perhaps because of the title that interests potential US undergraduates. Actually I am more familiar about the contents of SAT rather than the external information such as where to take the tests and where to find the revision materials coz i took them in a different country. I am sure you have more questions about the coverage and the expected depth of SAT and that's why I am here for--the messenger--IRIS. Good luck!
