142. The well-being of a society is enhanced when many of its people question authority.

The speaker asserts that on the condition that many of people who live in a society question authority, the society will become well-being. I concede that sometimes authority has flaws or even mistakes. Beyond this concession, however, if many people are doubt for and question the authority, it will result in negative affection. Thus, I think we should question the authority appropriately in order to the well-being of our society.

Mistakes and flaws are very common in the authority's theories. Being a person who wants to reach the well-being of the society, we should find out these mistakes and try to help the authority perfect their theories. There is an aphorism saying (and I paraphrased) people are inherent in mistakes. Under such circumstance, the authority is eager to be pointed out the flaws in their theories. The authority lives in the different condition as common people do. Most of their concern is paid to the theory itself, while the common people pay their most attention to the value of utilization in daily life. Being concerned by the authority and common people, the theory will become better and better, not only in the realms of academia, but also in the daily life.

Nevertheless, there is no need for many people to question authority. The large amount of question will end up with two main negative results. As a threshold matter, confidence is significantly important when the authority is trying new theories or experiments. Thinking about one is questioned and suspected by many people, undoubtedly, he or she will be question the ability of himself or herself. Without the confidence, it is mostly impossible for the authority to be successful in researching.

Secondly, if many people are questioning the authority, people, who are inherent in the mind of following most people, will question the authority also, or even all of the authorities. There will be a bad effect for the development of our society. The main potential of the development of our society is the authority. As we know, the dramatically quick pace of our society due to the attempt of new things. If the whole society or most people only consider the bad effect of the theory and experiment carried out by authorities, there is no doubt that modern things will not be able to be tried out in our society. And the pace of development will be stopped. Additionally, there are some ones who are eager to see the chaos of society. They will try to confuse the public when many people are questioning, and they will do the things that have opposite affection of the development, or even illegal.

To sum up, if we are concerning about the well-being of our society, we should try our best to find out the flaws of the theory brought by the authority, and help them to modify the flaws with positive attitude. But we had better not question them by many people, not only for the stabilization of our society, but also for the new theories which can bring quicker pace of development.

呵呵，不过感觉写大家不应该都去质疑有点牵强啊，question英文解释算是一个中型的词，不带贬义的，可以理解成询问。可能写赞成的态度要好点吧，但加点限定，比如说在某个范围或者程度上。
