In A, the they after because is ambiguous; [U]it seems illogically to refer to Formulas because they and Formulas are each the grammatical subject of a clause[/U]  and because the previous they refers to Formulas. In A and B, do not apply to... in the same way as they do to is wordy and awkward. D, the best choice, says more concisely in the same way as to. Also in B, because they refers to formulas, the introductory clause states confusedly that the formulas are growing. In C and E, subject to the [same] applicability of... is wordy, awkward, and imprecise; furthermore, are is preferable either before or after established big businesses to complete the comparison. Finally, the referent of they is not immediately clear in E.

LZM语法中代词指代部分说“在一主从复合句中，代词they前有两个或两个以上复述名词，划线部分一般都错在they指代是含糊不清的。  我的另一个问题是：正确答案D中的them前不是还有businesses和formulas两个复数名词吗，但他为什么是对的？

还有一个问题，现在问语法题很不方便，OG的有电子版还好说，我上新东方发的教材和网上流传的XDF语法补充题好象不太一样——至少序号是不一样的。所以想知道哪里有下XDF最新教材的吗？或者斑竹有吗？如果有的话我就直接说页数了，要问的题太多，一个字一个字往上敲太麻烦了，我现在积攒了一堆题没处问啊！~

画线部分的意思是什么我也没看明白.
但是选项D不含糊,因为them不可能代替formulas,从意思来讲,A does not apply to A不通从语法上说,如果要指代formulas的话,也应该是themselves.
第二道问题我的理解是GMAT寻找的应该是最佳答案,并不是语法上毫无漏洞的选项. B项表达不简洁,就犯了大忌了.其他选项看不到,不过应该是C最佳吧,根据题目意思呵呵:P

谢谢whoeverioe，你说的第一个问题很有道理，我明白了。第二个问题我总觉得可能有一定解释能说明they只能指代workers，但怎么解释我就不知道了~   因为碰到过很多题目都有这种代词前有两个名词的情况，且这些选项都是对的。
