I haven't decided to pursue PHD or work after graduation. So I would like to choose 2-year program which may help me to have enough time explore myself. And I think NYU would be satisfied in terms of the above standard. What's your suggestion? Thank you!

NYU MA Econ is not a best choice for either:

1. Academic: I guess quite some post here and there have discussed about the teaching faculty of the MA.

2. Work: it is kind of not too bad (within economics master - at least it is flexible, and with a excellent location + STEM designation for OPT extension), but not really the best choice given the cost (and thus ROI) and the recent political impact on the US work visa. Economics is generally not practical enough for landing a job directly, when compared with things like data science or quantitative finance.

My suggestion will be: make up your mind - PhD, or work afterwards? You can't prepare both well at the same time.

我也能理解有些人會是想先拼PhD (but are you sure you want NYU one then?), 不行才回國找工作. Somehow這算是買了一個options, 而options是一個挺貴的玩意來的.
