For an average man, he will feel too embarrassed to finish his speech, or he will flare up to be crazy. But Reagan, a firmed and confident man who had a strong will behaved a positive attitude, then he held the microphone tightly and cried out:" I have paid for this microphone already!" and then continued to finish his speech. And perhaps we all heard this: Facing a half-glass of water, an optimist thinks that there is half-full water, while a pessimist thinks that there is half-empty water. From this two adverse attitudes we can conclude that people’s attitudes sometimes are determined more by their internal characteristic.

Second, I feel sometimes people's attitudes are determined more by their wisdom or humor which I think are some kinds of people's internal characteristic. For instance, once President Reagan and Soviet Leader Gorbachev had dinner together, Reagan wanted to show the United States’ democratism then said to Gorbachev: " If you walk around the White House, you can even see someone shout ' Down Reagan!' , could you see the same scene in Red Square?" Gorbachev answered:" Anyone shout ' Down Reagan!' in Red Square I don't mind at all." " The whole world wants Reagan down." Reagan added with a formal smile. Do you think anyone may respond this way? I think that this is a dialogue between wisdom-to-wisdom, and humor-to-humor, without strong internal characteristic it cannot happen.

However, at some kind of emergency, may be the combination of immediate situation or surroundings and internal characteristic that determines one’s attitudes. Let me tell you a true story, which happened to John one of my classmates was running along a riverbank one morning hearing a cried of "help!" from the center of the river, and then he looked toward the sound source. He saw a little boy was shouting up and down with the water. Without thinking any more, Tommy rushed up and jumped into the river to save the boy. And at the same time there were some people just standing and seeing without any action. The immediate situation requires people’s help but those people without warm-heart, without sympathy will behave another attitude.

Admittedly, in some unexpected occasions, people's attitudes are determined more by their immediate situation or surroundings than internal characteristics. For example, if a supermarket is catching on fire, everyone shopping in the supermarket whose first respond is trying to run out of the building. And the same as when an earthquake is coming, all people will run to safe place without doubt.

In final analysis, neither outer elements nor internal characteristic should determine people's attitudes more in the controversies at issue. Instead, attitudes should be determined by a case-by-case basis, considering people's characteristic, wisdom, and the character of the case.
