ISSUE 226:
When it comes to the question that whether the problems we face currently are more complex and challenging than those what our predecessors faced, someone may think this is really a truth that the complex of the problems will be growing with the promoting of the society. We cannot say that the opinion is thoroughly wrong, but in my view, most of the problems we confront nowadays have the same complex and challenging with the old ones our predecessors tackled, because that the roots from different society are identical. And I also strongly agree that this illusion will be eventually dispelled with increased knowledge and experience.
First, let us talk about the global concerned problems –the hungry. This one comes out concurrently with the human society. everyone in each society is driven by self—interest, no one contents with what he has owns except for the primitive society when the foods were allocated evenly. The highly developed society cannot delete the self—interest, so the hungry in two thousands years ago or today have the same nature , but the different outsides. People who are without work capacity or don’t have the conditions to support themselves exist in any society, if only the others would donate their superfluous foods and fortune to those jobless ones, or the government can really support the homeless ones hungry may be solved. So form this aspect , hungry in different society changes little or even no change.
Further, the crime is also the focus of every society, the nature of crime is the desire for more money, power or discontent with someone or the government. The aspire to money and power are human nature, human desire or vanity cannot be filled because the exist conditions will promote those ones to a higher level persuit. While, the government is the tool of ruling classes to control the people of his country, so the law and some other regulation are always partial, and overlook the benefits ofsome certain part od people, then these ones may not get the right they should have, for example, the race discrimination, the color people especial the black ones cannot have the even position as the whites, they feel they are the corner forgetted by the government, so they do some harm to show their discontent. So, looking at what we talk above, we can cinclude that the human desire and discontent ofo the forgetted ones don’t have any difference though the society changes.
Maybe some people would disagree what I said, they can put some problems which exist only nowadays, such as the growing scarcity of the world’s nature resources. I acknowledge that these ones arenew that our predecessors did not confront, but it isn’t equal to the complex also enhanced. We look for new ones in the past, nevertheless, we have more powerful tools than before, such as computer and many precise survey methods, explore tools. In some way, it is much better and easier than the past people to work with limited knowledge and simple tools.
So, all the analyses and evidence I put above can obviously show my viewpoint that I think the complex and challenging of problem we faced is not more serious than the ones the past people must solve. When we meet a “new” problem, first, we need clam, analysis the nature of it ,then we can find that this problem is the same as what we have met, or something like the past ones, and more knowledge will be helpful to disppear this worry. |
