Nowadays, the girls are more realistic than before. One reason is themself. another reason is their family. I despised this first one. But for the second reason is a big problem. My family has a very hard restriction on my boyfriend. He need be handsome, rich, gentalmen, cannot be too short,. My ex-boyfriend is not very tall, and he is 6 years older than me. At first, my mother didn't say anything to our meeting because his father said he will go to Canada. And his family has a samll own business, it looks bery good. But later, he told me he cannot leave his old father do the business by himself. He don't want to immigrat to Canada. During several meeting with his family, my mother thought his father is very miserly even he is rich. So my mother and my family began to provent me to meeting him. I loved him at that time, That is my first love. But I don't want to make my mother be unhappy. It is a big prbolem and make me feel very sad at that time. I tried my best to fix their relationship. but it is useless. It just was over when we finished our relationship.

ghou, I can understand your parents. I also konw how you feel when they interfered into your private life. You must feel you have no freedom. You are no children any more. Maybe you can try to persuade your parents that you have the ability to judge people and choose the right person.

Sometimes I wonder if free love is better than the old form of marriage in which parents choose our partner for us.

Nova, you are right. Marriage is by no means an insurance. Thus, we must select carefully.
