==========Issue 207题目==========
Rituals and ceremonies help define a culture.Without them, societies or groups of people have a diminished sense of who they are.
============正文===========
The speaker claims that rituals and ceremonies help define a culture, for the reason that without them, societies or groups of people have a diminished sense of who they are. I agree with the speaker insofar as that rituals and ceremonies help define a culture. However, the arguer overrates the effect of rituals and ceremonies.
First of all, it is true that rituals and ceremonies of a society can help define a culture, since these ceremonies have their particular characteristics, which can show a society's unique culture. For example, the wedding in western countries and in China is quite different. As all of us know, in western countries bride and groom will go to church, they will eat wedding cake with all of their relatives and friends, and their clothes is usually white and black; however, in china, most of the wedding is at home or in restaurants, the foods is traditional Chinese foods, and red is regarded to be a happy color in this day. Moreover, in some religious countries, their many ceremonies, especially their clothes are quite different from any other societies. Therefore, rituals and ceremonies play a very important role in defining a society's culture.
However, is it true that without rituals and ceremonies, societies or groups of people have a diminished sense of who they are? Of course, not, because many other culture will help people to define their status. Language, for instance, while today English is becoming a worldwide language, different society has their unique language. As long as person speaks their mother tongue, they can understand where they are from, they can remember the culture only possess the society they live. Similarly, by foods a society and groups of a people can easily realize who they are. A large group of American people, for instance, when they eat their special food, they will know they are Americans, regardless of where they are, doing business in China or traveling in Japan.
If some people think with the similarity of food and language-that is, English has become many countries' official language and more and more begin to speak it. There is still a very significant factor to define a country's culture-that is, the history. Although with the development of society, many things in the world tend to become similar: some of Chinese bride and groom begin go to church in their wedding day, American McDonald's, KFC are so popular in China, all of these can not affect the thousands years' history of China. Therefore, except for ritual and ceremonies, many other aspects of a society can benefit for people to define themselves.
To sum up, it is true that rituals ceremonies will help define a culture, however, however, rituals and ceremonies only a small part of culture. Many other aspects of a society, such as its history, its conventions and so on will also useful for a society or a groups of people to define who they are.

============正文===========
The speaker claims that rituals and ceremonies help define a culture, for the reason that without them, societies or groups of people have a diminished sense of who they are. I agree with the speaker insofar as表示到这个程度范围; 在... 楼主在这里用的什么意思呢? that rituals and ceremonies help define a culture. However, the arguer overrates the effect of rituals and ceremonies.

First of all, it is true that rituals and ceremonies of a society can help define a culture, since these ceremonies have their particular characteristics, which can show a society's unique culture. For example, the wedding in western countries and in China is quite different.

Of course, not, because many other culture will help people to define their status?? Language, for instance, while today English is becoming a worldwide language, different society has their unique language. As long as person speaks their mother tongue, they can understand where they are from, they can remember the culture only possess the society they live. Similarly, by foods a society and groups of a people can easily realize who they are. A large group of American people, for instance, when they eat their special food, they will know they are Americans, regardless of where they are, doing business in China or traveling in Japan. Without them, societies or groups of people have a diminished sense of who they are.

Therefore, except for ritual and ceremonies, many other aspects of a society can benefit for people to define themselves.

To sum up, it is true that rituals ceremonies will help define a culture, however, however, rituals and ceremonies only a small part of culture. Many other aspects of a society, such as its history, its conventions and so on will also useful for a society or a groups of people to define who they are

Sigh.......
