吴千红教授是美国维拉诺瓦大学机械工程系终身正教授。他是维拉诺瓦大学细胞生物力学与运动科学实验室主任，机械工程系研究生部主任。吴千红博士将流体力学应用到生物及生物仿生学领域。他的研究领域覆盖了生物力学（生物传递现象，血管动力学，血液流变学，大脑生物力学，细胞生物力学），生物仿生学，软物质力学，运动科学，流体辅助的先进制造技术，及传统流体力学。
吴千红教授现在需要招收两名博士生。
对学生的要求主要是考过GRE (MATH>160)和托福(>90) or IELTS(>7.0). 勤奋好学，能踏实做研究，有较好的流体力学及相关背景。学生需要具有较强的实验动手能力，或者具有较强的数学建模和分析计算能力。

Two Fully Funded Ph.D. positions in the Bio-Fluid Mechanics Research Area at Villanova University Pennsylvania, USA. The positions are open immediately.
Two Ph.D. positions are available in the Cellular Biomechanics and Sports Science Laboratory (CBMSS) at Villanova University. The student will work closely with Dr. Qianhong Wu to conduct experimental and theoretical studies on projects related to the biofluid mechanics, biomimetics and fluid assisted manufacturing. The ideal candidate is expected to have a solid background in fundamental fluid dynamics.  Previous research experience using analytical, numerical and experimental approach is strongly preferred. Dr. Qianhong Wu is a tenured full Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University, the founding director of Villanova Cellular Biomechanics and Sports Science Laboratory (CBMSS), and the director of the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Programs. Dr. Wu applies fundamental principles of fluid dynamics to the bio and bio-inspired applications. His research interests include porous media flow, fluid dynamic and transport aspects of biological systems, cardiovascular engineering, brain biomechanics, hemodynamics, biomimetics, soft/super lubrication, and fluid-assisted nano manufacturing. He has published extensively on these topics has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), as well as the State of Pennsylvania.

Villanova is a highly-ranked national doctoral university, located in the Philadelphia suburbs, with a strong and growing research reputation. The Mechanical Engineering Department hosts 22 full-time faculty, approximately 300 undergraduate and 100 graduate students (including 45 Ph.D. students)
