据我所知，申请新闻或传播ma的大多没有陶瓷，或套了也没回音。

To sue,

My alma mater is well known for its prominence in the area of sci and tech. However, my undergrad major is journalism.

I got my BA in 2002 and worked as a Web editor for one year.

I applied for 7 universities for 2003 fall and finally got 4 admissions, 2 rejections and only one offer (tuition scholarship + full time research assitantship). I didn't have an interview or "tao ci" with any faculty member.

I don't really have a strong background,say...I have no paper. I have BA only. My GPA is so-so (87 out of 100). Maybe that's why I got financial aid from a Uni ranked merely around 90 on USnews. But I think I DID know what I wanted to pursue, as I stated in my PS. I did show my passion, determination and potential for the grad study. That's it.

So just dig out yourself inside. What is unique about you? Try to persuade the admission committee that you are the one they are looking for. Just let them know you will succeed one day. Sounds cliche, but it's true.

请问一下，如果突然发现个人的研究兴趣和所申请的教授补台吻合，是不是旧一定没有戏了。

刚才收到小米的信，一阵紧张，以为拒信来了（这么快！）。看了看，又气晕了，小米说只收到我一封推荐信！上次打电话给她，还起码收到了两封（连推荐人的名字都给我念出来了），我估计第三封是慢了一点，也能收到，但还是让我的推荐人寄了fedex，结果现在倒好，跟我说只收到一封信。只好又给她打了电话，她查了查，说没问题，她只看到了cover sheet，的确三封信都收到了。我质问她，deadline都过去10天了，怎么还没开始审材料。她说还有别的人缺这缺那的，要什么东西都齐了，才把所有人的申请材料一并送到评审的教授那边去！又说，起码3.15后才放消息。4个applicants一个admission的比例！还是ad，offer就更tough了！！！
