In my opinion, the persistent social problems exist for a long time and result from complicated historical issues so that a global university, as an education organization, has no authority and standpoint to intervene. However, I still support the establishment of a global university because there are more and more common problems that the whole human beings are facing as the globalization become the primary trend.

Turning to solve the most persistent social problem, it is like mission impossible to the global university. The existence of these social problems is interwoven with many complex factors and sharp collision, let us say, the religion, the benefits of different classes, the independence of a country. Some problems should be solved by the country itself. In Africa, conflicts and collisions left by the colonialism exist among different folks. If other countries or organizations intermeddle to deal with these issues, even if they are capable to solve it by negotiation or army, these actions are regarded as invasion and disrespect to some extent. Other problems should be worked out by the relative countries. The benefits of these relative countries are focused on the solution. Consider the delimitation of boundary. The failure of negotiation about the boundary between Ukraine and Russia once result in the tense diplomatic relationship between these two countries. To satisfy the demand of both countries, which may overlap in details, what boundary is just and appropriate? To other countries or organizations, it is hard to say. Therefore, absence of the standpoint, even the U.N is unable to solve. How do we hope the global university deal with problems eventually?

However, with the process of globalization, all countries are tied up on a boat. To establish a global university will help the whole human beings to deal with common problems. After all, the resource in such lovely planet is limited. For our offspring, we should take action together to develop continuously. Take the environmental problems as an example. With the rapid progress of science and industry, the pollution, which is side product of civilization, are threatening our lives and harming the biosystem and ecosystem --the depletion of atmosphere ozone layer, the green house, the fertilization of water--we need an organization which is expert in the allocation and use of natural resource regardless the benefit of separate countries but the world as a whole. Otherwise, the selfish measure of some countries, such as Japan which raise the chimney of industry to expel smoke from their country, will push our earth into abyss.

Moreover, nowadays, the peace and prosperity of a country depend the peace and prosperity of other countries. As the globalization of economy and finance, countries share material and labor resource and consuming market reciprocally. Any beneficial or detrimental factors in a country will influence others through ripple effects. Hence, a global university is essential to research on the economic and financial cases in order to prevent the health of global economy from speculators’ destruction and attack. Certainly, anyone will never forget the Asia Finance Crisis which happened in Thailand at first. In this crisis, many persons suffer from bankrupt. Even Singapore and Hong Kong, which are both wealthy countries, were incapable of escaping from the catastrophe and were bogged down in foreign debts. Thus, we need a global university to assist these countries to develop their comparative advantage so as to reduce the chance of finance crisis and propel the economy of the world.

Admittedly, it is difficult to start up the global university owing to the various religion, language, customs, favorite, taboo and so forth. Notwithstanding it seems impossible, if we hold the firm conviction and belief to make world beautiful, no obstacles is impossible to overcome even if it demands us to sacrifice something.

To sum up, it is impossible for a global university to solve many persistent social problems which frustrate us for a long time. Nonetheless, basing on the facets above, we will inevitably encounter the problems brought by the globalization sooner or later. The solution of these problems necessitates our synergic wisdom and endeavor as well as guidance, which is the function of the global university.

【说一下我的看法：这篇文章给我感觉开头和结尾有点乱。unversity和student在我看来都是虚指，其实就是指各个国家，所以开头不必费言赘述，大可直接进入主题，也就是赞成题目的立意，不过，类似作者第三段描述的问题可以放入对于主题的补充，说，各个国家应该还是要具体情况具体对待的。我觉得文中应该还是得列举一下world's persistent social problems的，比如peace、environment、population、economy、antiterrorism等，然后可以针对其中的peace，引出类似俄乌边界问题的特例，说具体情况具体对待。此外，对于这个global univ的分析，可以再深一点，讲到全球化的世界，单一国家的能力，可能很难独立处理问题，因为自己国家一在经验上，二在经济上，三在经过上需要帮助，避免瞎打蛮撞，能多快好省的解决问题，比如二战后西德经济的崛起，以及上世纪末对于新经济的转变，就是得利于其他国家和欧盟得帮助，而今，德国得经济模式也提供给其他国家经验以学习。
