Nowadays, as our living stander become higher and higher, arts are more and more significant. There are lots of debates about what they reveal us. As far as I am concerned, the arts act as the non-intellect culture of a society reflect the sense and spirit of humanities in the society.
  Firstly, they can represent the feeling of people to the life, such as hope, happiness, sadness and so on, which is hidden in the heart of human being. People are always reluctant to tell their feeling to strangers for two main reasons. One is they are shy to express their ideas to pubic. In some cultures, this only happens on several withdrawn people. But in some cultures such as china, this is a common phenomenon. Therefore, painting, music, literature and some other styles of arts are the good tools to convey their inner feelings. The other reason is the scruple for some unknown involvements. This is even more important especially in the autocratic society. In this society, the autocrat exerts all the methods to maintain his/her ruling. People who express a little discontent will be punished soon. So arts are an important weapon for people to convey their opinions without being punished. Famous Denmark writer Anderson expresses his irony to the feudal autocrat and feudalism by his fairy tales. Throughout his works we can see the darkness of the feudal society clearly. At the same time, Anderson was protected by the special weapon.
  Furthermore, arts can make us learn more about the society. Arts as a significant part of culture can reflect the character of society in another way. No matter if people are inclined to represent their own experience and thoughts, their works at least convey somebody’s experience or thoughts. As all the people live in society, on their way of creation, they are necessarily influenced by outside factors. Take painting as an example, although the content of every painting work is not the same, the painting created at the same period always has the same style. We can easily recognize their approximate painted time by this. So we can know a society thoroughly by researching its arts.   
Besides, producers of arts have a perspective beyond the range of normal people, they can see from a higher stance to evaluate the potential need of people in the futures. So many art works present the future to us ahead of time. For example, moon landing, universal utilization of robots, which are depicted in fiction books, become reality a few decades. At the same time, many inventors are inspired by the imaginative art works. What needs most for the inventor is imagine, which is the character of many art works. By exploiting the imaginative arts, scientists and inventors can save much time on their way of research. The utility of nuclear energy, the rocket, and so on all have relation with the imaginative art works.
From what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that the arts do reveal us hidden ideas and impulses of a society, we can benefit a lot from them.
