P: main 反对
A: 过去的确存在自然灭绝现象(达尔文 自然选择)
B:但现在人类破坏加速了不必要的破坏,应当予以环保补偿
C即使是自然灭绝的物种也有拯救的必要(科研等 熊猫)
The protection of endangered species is a popular but controversial topic in contemporary society. Although many people confirm the significance of this behavior, there are still some people who think that it is unjustified for society to make extraordinary efforts especially at a great cost in money and jobs, to save endangered species. They advocate such assertion because at various times in the geological past, many species have become extinct as a result of natural, rather than human processes. However, in my point of view their statement and reason are unilateral. Human has the necessity and responsibility to protect and survive endangered animals, and such behavior will benefit human society eventually.
Admittedly, in ancient times especially when human beings do not exist, there were also countless extinctions of species caused by natural influences. There are numerous causes which contribute to the extinction of species. The unexpected change of environment such as earthquakes and volcano eruption always lead to the disappearance of species; the "natural selection" theory of Darwin also well explained the reason of the natural extinction of species. In the process of evolution, inferior species always died out without external influence, and replaced by the superior species. The persuasive example of this is the dinosaur. This powerful and strong animal lived several billion years before human beings' existence, but they still died out during the evolution of nature. In this sense, species extinction is a natural process, which does not need to be prevented by humans.
However, we cannot easily get the conclusion only depending on the one-sided facts above. Although natural selection play an significant role in the extinction of species in history, it is undeniable that the human activities speed up the extinction of species, especially in modern times(现代). The development of agricultural and industrial society seriously destroyed the natural environment and natural balance. Many species died out because of excessive hunting, lacking of food and habitat, environmental pollution and so on. One instance which can best illustrate it is crocodile.Because crocodile can be sold in a rather high price in world market, people began to excessive killing this animal for their skins. The result is a sharply decrease in number of crocodile, and crocodile has become endangered species nowadays. It is human's responsibility to prevent and compensate the unexpected extinction of species.
Moreover, it is also necessary to save species which natural extinct. Someone may argue that some animals such as panda are out of the food chain, which means its extinction may slightly influence natural. In this sense, its extinction is natural and we should not make efforts to survive it. Notwithstanding, even such species also need to be saved because they have other values for human being. Endangered animals are valuable for the diversity of species. If we have not survived them, several years later, our descendantscan only recognize them from books. They may also contribute to the scientific research of biology, genetics and so on. We should save them for the development and prosperity of human beings.
To sum up, human have the necessity and responsibility to survive the endangered animals, not only for the natural balance, but also for the prosperous development of human society. The cost of money and efforts is worthy in the long run, especially for our descendants. |
