All of these are out of the imagination of people, especially the youth. Let alone the differences between us and the people who lived in Middle Age or earlier.

Decades years of history investigation have offered people so many excuses to complain their daily life and to extract themselves from obligation. When they are tired, they said, ”that’s not fair. I envy the Flintstone people who did not have to go work"; when they committed terrible false, they say, "That’s not my fault. Things happened were different." They draw these conclusions because they do not fully understand history, or even they do not at all.

If one carefully examined these differences referred in the second paragraph, he/she could discover a fact that people, no matter they wrote on papyrus or type on laptop, lead to similar life style. They need to work, even though the characteristics of jobs might change by years; they need to communicate, even though the medium has become Internet instead of traditional letters; and they need to entertain themselves, although our ancestors had much less choices than we do today. Thus, it is not difficult to observe that people both in the past and nowadays suffer the similar pains and tears and enjoy similar gains and laughter.

Moreover, if one further look into the human culture and communicative disciplines, he/she would find out that people in the past and today share more of the same than conflict in differences. Although there lies several big difference, such as the abolition of slavery and increase in women status, the main criteria of manners and ethics remain almost the same as they were one thousand year ago. People still adore brevity, kindness, honesty, patriotism and etc, despite of differences in living circumstances. Also, people utilized ancient means to solve problems, such as analysis-which had been formed in the early days of our ancestors facing starving problem. In fact, this is what we should obtain from history learning.

Without its abstract appearance and bald process of study, history itself supplies the world paramount-at least very long time-truth and everlasting disciplines. That is why the subject of history do not obsolete in this modern society. People examine the mistakes in history, and learn the proper method to eliminate the false they had committed and to conquer the hardness they will face. From the history it can be learned that when the choice between truth and teacher comes to you, the choice of truth would be admired- that was what Plato did 3000 years ago. Also, from the historical campaign the general found way out of the trap- that was what Napoleon did. Even if in today's Wall Street, nobody dares to say that he/she invests as his/her wills, not the experiences accumulated from the predecessors. Without its abstract appearance and bald process of study, history itself supplies the world paramount-at least very long time-truth and everlasting disciplines. That is why the subject of history do not obsolete in this modern society. People examine the mistakes in history, and learn the proper method to eliminate the false they had committed and to conquer the hardness they will face. From the history it can be learned that when the choice between truth and teacher comes to you, the choice of truth would be admired- that was what Plato did 3000 years ago. Also, from the historical campaign the general found way out of the trap- that was what Napoleon did. Even if in today's Wall Street, nobody dares to say that he/she invests as his/her wills, not the experiences accumulated from the predecessors. All of these, undoubtedly, are from the study of history.

Bacon has once said that history made people see clear. The existence of history is not to complicate nowadays life and trap people in chaos, but to lead people to find the common in the sea of difference and to find their in their future dilemma【什么意思，不太明白？】. We all have to owe the simplicity of troubles to history- the mirror in which we could find truth and eternity.
