原题:A new report suggests that men and women experience pain very differently from one another, and that doctors should consider these differences when prescribing pain medications. When researchers administered the same dosage of kappa opioids—a painkiller—to 28 men and 20 women who were having their wisdom teeth extracted, the women reported feeling much less pain than the men, and the easing of pain lasted considerably longer in women. This research suggests that kappa opioids should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is required, whereas men should be given other kinds of pain medication. In addition, researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women.

The recommendation endorsed in this argument is that men should be given other kinds of pain medication and researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women. This claim sounds reasonable at first thought. After all, the author cites that the women reported feeling much less pain than the men in a research. Nonetheless, the author neglects some causal relationship between evidence and argumentation. And the author did not deduce a necessary conclusion.
The major problem with this argument is that the report from that research could not make a conclusion that kappa opioids is not useful for the men. As we all know, weight of most is higher than women's. And a higher weight man may need more dosage. However, in the research, researchers gave the same dosage of kappa opioids to people who need different dosage. So the men felt more painful may be caused by an unreasonable research.
Moreover, even kappa opioids is not so useful to men as them to women. The author should not conclude that men should be given other kinds of pain medication. In this argument, no evidence or deduction is provided to prove any other kinds of pain medication would be more efficient than kappa opioids. And only these evidence or deduction can conclude the result that mentioned in the argument. It is possible that kappa opioids was less useful to the men compared to the efficiency on women. But kappa opioids may better than other kinds of pain medication.
Another problem that undermines this argument is that researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women. Kappa opioids is only one kind of pain medication. The new report mentioned in this argument is something about different feeling of pain from men and women. Maybe we should reevaluate the effects of some pain medicine. However, a report about pain feeling should not make all medications reevaluated.
In sum, this argument is unconvincing as it stands. To better this argument, the author should prove that kappa opioids is not useful on men when researchers gave them different dosage by their weight. In addition, kappa opioids is not the best medicine should be proved.

The major problem with this argument is that the research which this argument based on suffered from several statistical, either of which renders the research's result unreliable. Firstly, only 28 men and 20 women attend the research. these 48 people are only a small part of pain medicine users. And they may select from a region. So they can not represent the whole reflection of the medicine. Secondly, men's wisdom teeth may more harder to extract than women's. And they suffered more pain than women. So more pain may not caused by the medicine. Thirdly, using same dosage to men and women is reasonable. As we all know, weight of most men is higher than women's. And a higher weight may need more dosage. However, in the research, researchers gave the same dosage of kappa opioids to people who need different dosage. So the men felt more painful may be caused by an unreasonable research.
