14"It is necessary for everyone to read poetry, novels, mythology and other types of imaginative literature."

Living in a world dominated mainly by pragmaticism, imaginative literature such as poetry, novels, mythology seemed to be less significant to people than the practical literature. However, from where I stand, the necessity for us to read imaginative literature exists.

It is imagination which plays an cruisial role in creating a colourful and meaningful life for us that without which hardly any human progress will be made. The chemical structure of benzene, as an example, is said to be found through an eccentric dream, in which showing a snake is sprawling around the  hexagon. Utopia, unpractical and imaginative as it is, serves as a indispensible element when constituting the development of sociology. Such is imagination that it is the source and motivation of human progress.

No other literature functions more effectively than imaginative ones in forms of inspiring our intellgence as well as imagination in that imaginative literature is not limited by neither the current condition of society nor the scientific development at present. Fax machine was forseen by scientific fiction writers decades before its invention. Pollution and its formidable results were revealled by mythology long before the scientists has proved and annouced. Airplanes were invented under the dream of flying like a birds mentioned in ancient poetry. Thus, imaginative literature serves as a catalyzer for numerous of human inventions which exerts a significant impact on human being.

Not only does imaginative literature promote our intellgence, but it free us from the tension of social life due to the crude competition. It is for this reason that 'Harry Porter' earned such tremandous popularity among children as well as adults. People laugh without hesitation when bad guys were punished severely, smile happily when prince and princess lived a happay life afterwards, touched wholeheartedly when Harry's parents sacrifice for their dearly son. Through imaginative literature, people can throw away the nervousness and pressure confronted in their daily life transitorily and dive themselves into the world of imagination and miracle.

However, we could not paid to ignore the great importance of practical literature, which endow us with the ability to survive and compete in the work place. Had it not been the practical literature, not only would we have had the tendency to neglect the fellness of our society, but we may have lost most of the skills essencial for the development of mankind.

To sum up, imaginative literature impart us the creativity to the complex invention and thought and relief to the oppression brought about by our society. Hence, though the practical literature should be taken into serious account,  there lies the nessecity for everyone to taste the  flavor of the fantastic imaginative literature.
