Many people around us think that disagreement will baffle our process of learning knowledge. On the contrary, I hold the point that disagreement will help us learning. Now I will show you my reasons.
First of all, disagreement is means that the opinion you hold about some issue is different, even opposite, with the one others take. As we know, strictly speaking, there is no body in the world who has overall similar situations with someone else. These differences come from their different culture, upbringing, experience, choice, and countless others. So everyone's way thinking about things has many bifurcations. Everyone thinks about things by standing on his/her own background, therefore, disagreement is ubiquitous in our world. We can say, the power of the improvement of the world derive from the disagreement. Because disagreement makes people think deeply about the viewpoint we currently accept and take it granted right. We will find how limit our viewpoint hold now. We will think over them from the perspectives which brought from disagreement. All these various opinion will make us wiser.  Then we will look, pause, examine, and revise our unperfect opinions. Now we get knowledge! For instance, in fact, failure is a form of disagreement. Failure comes from the disagreement of reality and our view. But "failure is the mother of success." the world known sentence tells us no failure no success. Edison, who said this wisdom, is one of the greatest inventors in the world. However, his achievement and fame is based on his countless failures. He tried but failed, tried again but failed again, again and again, but from this process he master lots of practical knowledge, finally, he invented large numbers of facility for our world. According report, he failed more than 1000 times while he looked for the suitable material to make filament of electric light. Form this instance, we can read that disagreement is an approach to learn something not the clog on the way of learning.
  Moreover, we must cognize that disagreement doesn't mean resistance. Resistance is defined that we will make getting rid of these ideas at heart. We doesn't care about whether they are right. Easily understand that we should abstain from resistance when we have disagreement with others’ viewpoint. We should keep modest and take the advantage of the various perspectives to broaden our mind.
However, from the perspective of psychology, agreement is also needed. When we are given some agreements we will be encouraged, and be more confident. Confidence is effective tools to help us keep hothearted when we learn some stuffy things. But too many agreements will result in pride, self-satisfaction, even self-center. Then these bad attitudes will play adverse roles in our process of study. Take the early Qing Dynasty in China for example, most the officers that time hold the same opinion that China is the most powerful country in the world when western countries rapidly development result from Industrial Revolution. No one offer the disagreement to introduce new techniques from west, to enhance the national defense. Therefore, they abandon a very good choice to learning advanced technology. Then Chinese technology fell behind in competition with western countries.
  From the discussion above, we can see that only disagreement is the dominant source of advance, and agreement also can help we learn new knowledge, but it is not the dominant element.
