No field of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study.
I fundamentally agree with the title statement that in any field of study almost no significant advance can be achieved without bringing knowledge and experience of outsiders into that field of study. While it is true that in the initial step of study in some fundamental subjects researchers were do research more for their own sake, contemporary developing rapidly science and technology call for deeper and broader research in every study, which determined all fields of study to be intertwined together to contribute each other.

In retrospect, during the original step of science and technology, the fundamental scientific subjects--such as Math, Physics, Chemic, etc.  developed themselves in their own particular disciplines and this independence focusing on one field rendered researchers more focused attention to whatever he/she was pursuing. One can look no further than the curriculum of grade school or high-school to find how explicit and independent those subjects was defined by educators and learned by students. Take the Math, which first stems from the demand for quantum in product and life, for example. From simple algebra of add, delete, multiply, divide to the geology, calculus, and later complex theory of matrix the development of Math have little to do with the theory and knowledge of outsiders. Also, consider the physicist Newton's creativity of the theory of gravity, Copernicus's theory that sun was in the center of universe, to name a few. All those influential achievements were discovered in their unique inquiry.

Nevertheless, time is changed. Nowadays to delve into one study without invading any border of outsider study was amount to mission impossible. Even those fundamental subjects cited above confront the challenge that if not introduced the knowledge and experience of outsiders they risk squandering time and money and resource to fight a losing battle. Take the fundamental subject--Mechanics for example. Classic mechanics have been researched almost two hundred years before, now the development of mechanics was based more on the interconnection of knowledge and experience of outsiders. Fracture Mechanic, Fluid Mechanics, Calculating Mechanics, and Biologic Mechanic were all born this way. The former so-called 'pure' subject--Math, also gained a new born in the communication with the work of other subjects. Computer technologies are broadly used in the department of Math in almost every university by post graduates and professors.

It is not only beneficial for those fundamental subjects in itself to introduce knowledge and experience of other areas into their own territory, but also most necessary and even desirable for today's researchers to make momentary breakthrough in most realms. The space discovery need the detailed study and collaboration of many realms, including math, physic, chemic, astronomy, mechanics, material engineering, manufacture and so on. By the same token, without the collective endeavor of biologist, chemist, linguists, the contribution of the archeologist is greatly limited to discover an ancient civilization from the evidence found at the archeological site. Another compelling example involves the discovery of Pluto, the ninth and farthest planet form the sun. The researchers find that according to the other gravities of eight planets the Neptune departed from the well-balanced orbit. Through myriads of calculation, astrologist found the Pluto, whose existence made the departure of the Neptune’s orbit possible. For this reason, the discovery of Pluto is called discovery on the paper. Suppose no knowledge of Math was introduced to the astrology, maybe till now the Pluto have not been discovered and human being are accustomed to accept that there are eight planets in the sun system.

In sum, in this era of rapid social and technology development no field of study can advance significantly without the experience and knowledge of other fields of study involved. Only through the intercommunication and interplay of each other, can the significant development of one area of study be reached.

Issue 228 “No filed of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study.”
********************************************************
I partially agree with the assertion that significant advances in study require expertise from a range of fields. Indeed, the long history of human being exploring the principles and rules of nature has proved that incorporation of knowledge and experience from the outsider fields can eventually lead to distinguished achievements. However, it is too arbitrary to claim that outside knowledge and experience are the necessarily indispensable factors for the significant progress.

To begin with, nowadays, with the further researching of science and technology, any aspects of human activities is changing with each passing day so that it is impossible for anyone to acquire full of the knowledge of any fields of study because of lacking time and energy. No one can exclude the possibility that one prominent researcher may not have a knowledge of another field which his work doesn’t involve or cannot attract his concern. As the saying that two heads are better than one, spontaneously, cooperation and intercommunication between various fields of study are increasingly needed and become more and more widely. Take for instance, on a sunny autumn morning 2003, China's first manned spaceship ShenZhou-5 was launched which was a remarkable carrier of all fields' cooperation, such as mechanical, material, astronautic, electronic, communicational, computer and even biological knowledge. And ultimately, sucess came.

Besides, the novel approaches and perspectives of outside disciplines sometimes bring fresh ideas to our traditional disciplines, which can expand their sphere of researching and application in a much broader scope. To illustrate, a case in point in this respect is that the distinguished Hungary American mathematician, John von Neumann applied mathematic thoughts and ideas to economics, resulting in the born of the famous game thory which had a profound influence upon it. Another example is that when biologist initiated researching the genetics, they referred some of the chemistry knowledge and research methods. This lead to a new diverse and interdisciplinary fields-biochemistry, we all know today, which involves study the origins of life with both biology and chemestry means. In addition, in the increasingly competitive commerical society today, many military tacits and strategy are used in the enterprise management.

Furthermore, it is easy for one to create new theories by referring the comprehensive laws and regulations which precursors of other fields have accumulated for their inheritors for a long period and proved to be true by their skillful experience and practices. Hence, he can obtain a much higher start point and doesn't have to start from the beginning level, and then avoid walking a lot of tough roads to reach his destination. Nanotechnology is one of the remarkable examples. This promising technology is based on traditional mechanical exact science, material and biology science.  All of these disciplines have been fully developed for a long time and the experters of these fields have gained a host of experience. It doesn't require the researcher working from zero. Therefore, outside knowledge and experience are of importance for significant advance in any fields.

On the other hand, however, it is seemingly ridiculous to assert that any significant progress in any fields resulting from the employing knowledge and learning from other fields. As we know, any significant progress is inseparable with the laborious work of the researchers in the very field. It is a child of their perspiration and long period endurance during the investigation process.

In the final analysis, it is conceded that the accurate results and fruition outsiders bring will introduce more fresh approaches and provide higher start point for researchers, also will help men to extend their scientific investigation fields and know better of their life. Nevertheless it is just serve as one of the important stimulations that objectively exists

No field of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study.

I fundamentally agree with the title statement that in any field of study almost no significant advance can be achieved without bringing knowledge and experience of outsiders into that field of study. While it is true that in the initial step of study in some fundamental subjects(这样嵌套个人觉得别扭)  researchers were do? research more for their own sake, contemporary developing rapidly(修饰词有点累赘吧?) science and technology call for deeper and broader research in every study, which determined(不用过去式吧) all fields of study to be intertwined together to contribute each other.

In retrospect, during the original step of science and technology, the fundamental scientific subjects--such as Math, Physics, Chemic, etc. developed themselves in their own particular disciplines and this independence focusing on one field rendered researchers more focused attention to whatever he/she was pursuing. One can look no further than the curriculum of grade school or high-school to find how explicit and independent those subjects was(单数?) defined by educators and learned by students. Take the Math, which first stems from the demand for quantum in product and life, for example. From simple algebra of add, delete, multiply, divide to the geology, calculus, and later complex theory of matrix(这里逗号停顿一下是不是会好一些?) the development of Math have little to do with the theory and knowledge of outsiders. Also, consider the physicist Newton's creativity of the theory of gravity, Copernicus's theory that sun was in the center of universe, to name a few. All those influential achievements were discovered in their unique inquiry.

Nevertheless, time is changed. Nowadays to delve into one study without invading any border of outsider study was(时态用错了吧?)  amount to mission impossible. Even those fundamental subjects cited above confront the challenge that if (我觉得这里还是不要用省略得好)not introduced the knowledge and experience of outsiders they risk squandering time and (and改用逗号就好) money and resource to fight a losing battle. Take the fundamental subject--Mechanics for example. Classic mechanics have been researched almost two hundred years before, now the development of mechanics was(now…was?) based more on the interconnection of knowledge and experience of outsiders. Fracture Mechanic, Fluid Mechanics, Calculating Mechanics, and Biologic Mechanic were  ( 又是时态) all born this way. The former so-called 'pure' subject--Math, also gained( ) a new born in the communication with the work of other subjects.

Through myriads of calculation, astrologist found the Pluto, whose existence made(时态) the departure of the Neptune’s orbit possible. For this reason, the discovery of Pluto is called discovery on the paper. Suppose no knowledge of Math was() introduced to the astrology, maybe till now the Pluto have not been discovered and human being are accustomed to accept that there are eight planets in the sun system.

In sum, in this era of rapid social and technology(就与 social的词性对应吧?) development no field of study can advance significantly without the experience and knowledge of other fields of study involved. Only through the intercommunication and interplay of each other, can the significant development of one area of study be reached.

Another compelling example involves the discovery of Pluto, the ninth and farthest planet form the sun. The researchers find that according to the other gravities of eight planets the Neptune departed from the well-balanced orbit. Through myriads of calculation, astrologistastronomer found the Pluto, whose existence made the departure of the Neptune’s orbit possible. For this reason, the discovery of Pluto is called discovery on the paper. Suppose no knowledge of Math was introduced to the astrology看来没有弄清astrology(占星学)和astronomy(天文学)的区别哦, maybe till now the Pluto have not been discovered and human being are accustomed to accept that there are eight planets in the sun system.

In sum, in this era of rapid social and technology development no field of study can advance significantly without the experience and knowledge of other fields of study involved. Only through the intercommunication and interplay of each other, can the significant development of one area of study be reached.
