题目：It's generally believed that some people are born with certain talents, for instance for music and sport, and others are not. However, it's sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician.

People always praise a successful sports person or musician as “talented”, which means they are born with talents. There is no doubt that some of them are gifted whereas others are not. However, some people argue that if trained properly, children without talents can also be great athletes or musicians.

Great athletes and musicians do show their talents when they are children. From one hand, they learn faster and easier than others in some specific aspect and that encourages them to keep learning until some achievements are made. On the other hand, some artists have created masterpieces that are beyond people’s expectation. For example, Mozart is considered as talented, not only he was able to compose when he was three, but he has written songs so famous and brilliant that we still have a chance to enjoy them after hundred of years.

Though we cannot deny the existence of talent, we also cannot deny the influence of environment and hard-working. A child is likely to generate interest in music if his or her life is full of songs. He or she may not have such talent but the enthusiasm generated would lead him/her to learn and enjoy it. Also, the consistent effort is the key to becoming successful. The talented child could not be successful without long-term practice and the untalented one could become can also achieve what the talented achieve. The well-known basketball player, Kobe Bryant, did not have big palms to catch the ball and did not score one point in the game when he was twelve. He was encouraged and trained by his father, who was a former basketball player. Kobe has stuck to the motto “rest in the end, not in the middle” and he turned out to be the most skilled basketball player in the world. (308)
