Issue153: Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively.
------正文------
When it comes to this topic, different people hold different views due to their different perspectives. Some people hold the view that the students should accept what the teachers show, while others hold that the students should have a certain skeptical spirit of what they study. Were I left to offer my opinion, I would not hesitate a moment to say that I totally agree with the speaker's statement that the students should challenge the authorities in certain skeptical spirit. There are some factors that can support my personal inclination and preference.(有点罗嗦,像托福作文,节省时间为好)
In the first place, challenging the authorities can foster a good academic or class atmosphere for we (us)students, making us learn the knowledge actively and optimistically. We can imagine the picture (senerio)that many students question the teacher in the class, not just absorbing all the knowledge passively, taking it for granted even if they have many doubts. Our education (should)encourages all the students to bring an active manner to treat what they are taught. In this way, it can make all the students learn more creatively and thus promote the improvement (progress)of the science.
Moreover, nowadays much information, all of which are regarded as scientific facts or accurate theories, turns out to be inaccurate in the process of our study and challenge to the authorities. In the natural science realm, (area), ( in the realm of ---)it is just challenging to the authorities that paves the way for the scientific progress. It is just Galileo who did the famous experiment, throwing two steeling balls with different weights from the leaning tower of Pizza, thus reject the Aristotle's theory that the objects with different weights fell at different speeds, that is to say, the heavier the object is, the faster it falls.t Galileo's challenge paves the way for Issac Newton classic physics which the modern science depends on. For (不要)Another example, it is just the challenge from Galileo, Copernicus and Bruno that made people convert their thought ((s)that the earth is flat and is the center of the cosmos, with the sun encircling it. It is just the challenge from the learners, who is interested in this realm, can bring our science forward.
The last thing I would like to bring forward and emphasize is that challenging the authorities does not mean a rejection of the challenge, which is too extreme. Most authorities should be respected and many new discoveries or inventions are built on the achivement of the precursors. We students should first develop a foundation that we are encouraged to think critically and comprehensively about what we are told. To do this, we can have a good eyeshot, observing what we may ignore at first.
Taking into account all the factors that have been discussed above, it is not difficult to say that we students should have a certain skeptical spirit of what we learn and challenge the authorities. Just dong so, the science realm will not only survive but also thrive, (说的好)needless to say a good atmosphere will be formed in our society, thus promoting the improvement of our society.
总的来说我感觉不错。
不过好像缩小题目为挑战权威了? |
