最近总算静下心来写了几篇issue,在下斗胆拿出其中一篇贴出来。虽经曾自己一次修改,但自知离要求还有不小距离,所以还请各位高人猛烈抨击,希望在未来额一个多月能得到升华。先谢了。
ISSUE 1 We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from people whose views contradict our own; disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning.
The author asserted that the people whose points are analogous to ours help us more in our learning than the ones against us, affected by whom we may be fettered from learning. It is partially reasonable of this conclusion. We should equally say that both agreement and disagreement are of value in our knowledge accumulating course as well as our methodology building process.
We all know that consensus of opinion engenders comfortable mood and harmonious atmosphere, in which a person tends to regard others as himself, bound with little antipathy and opposition. In this way the intense desire to encourage and assist each other arises, under the influence of which the enthusiasm and impetus of learning can be easily ignited. Because of the result drawn from the activity above, helping others as a matter of fact equals helping oneself. As students, we all have a feeling that during everyday studying especially the examining period, most of us are willing to gather in groups with students having the similar ideas and learning method. In the association one can share some valuable materials such as the notes in class. What is more significant is to buoy up and communicate each other, and then the fear and solitude will be expelled swiftly. Compared with working alone, we usually get the twice result with half the effort. In short compatibility is power.
Yet just realize one’s own view is not enough, rather, it may not only cause excessive self-confident and prejudice, which will impede us from going head continually, but also shape a narrow knowledge range, which goes against cognizing and analyzing the integral nature of objects. A famous Chinese writer, Luxun, has said (and I paraphrase):”Learning resembles collecting honey. If you concentrate only one flower, the outcome is limited.”
Because of that, we should not evade or even be afraid of divergence, but to treat it and estimate it objectively. It is well-known that disagreement comes from basically two reasons: merely seeing the unilateral aspect of one thing and biasing other thoughts. Both of these are harmful for cognizing of the real world. So the best approach to be a wise man is to analyze various views from different aspects. Absorbing the positive and rejecting the negative are remarkable vital for an enterprise or a country. For example, Zhanghai, the Chief Executive Officer of Jianlibao, is called a “crazy learner”. He is expert to spotting his competitors’ merits and fetching them for his own. After his entrance into Jianlibo just two years, all the disagreements was changed to compliments and the corporation, once having been on the verge of abruption, became one of Chinese largest beverage enterprise.
Admittedly opposed opinion always strike ones confident and lead stress and inhibit learning, particularly for the weak or the young men. However, the only way to resolve it is to make use of it and to defeat it but not to flee.
Everything has two sides, both of which are often changing, not constant. From the discussion above, we can conclude that agreement and disagreement are necessary for our growing up and don’t gaze at one side extremely and neglect the other. |
