ISSUE:"The greatness of individuals can be decided only by  those who live after them ,not by their contemporaries."

It is true that in most cases the ancient should be evaluated by their descendants.But at the same time we could not ignore the contribution of the contemporaries.
In my opinion, concerning the greatness of a person ,we should take into consideration the problem of  equity and fairness.In order to make an equitable and fair evaluation of an individual's achievement ,we are supposed to take an exact view of their achievement as well as themselves.As a stone has its several facets,we also could view a person from different visions which include the vision of study ,the vision of working ,and the vision of life in family,etc.However,the contemporaries of a person can only know one or two aspects of him which will make their perspective of evaluation to the person in narrow way,unless he or she is not the one who follow him all the day.On the other hand ,with the time elapse,an ascentor 's works, public behavings , or even personnal affairs would be revealed in a large degree.The more time goes by ,the more details of a person probably be detected.As a result ,the greatness of individuals should be evaluated by people who live after more.
Furthermore,it is accepted that people who live in the same time are more likely to conflict with each other ,which is particularly true with regard to those who work in the same area or who have their common interest.For example ,two professors in my faculty both have their own achievements.However,they have some divergences on their studies,which render neither of them quite agree on the other's research achievement.As a result ,neither of their evauation towards the other’s research is objective.However,as desendants will surely have no conflict of interest with the ancients,it is rather suitable for them to be an evaluator.
Although I share the view with the speaker to some extent ,I do not agree with him in the point that the achievement of the ancient can be decided only by their descendants.The speaker as he contends,falsely ignore the contribution of contemporaries’ evaluation Although contemporaries may have some shortages in making the evaluation,they,on the other hand also have their advantages in doing so.For instance ,one’s argots or some physically motions might only be understood by his colleages;only one’s wife or husband really know his character,nature and temperament;only one’s adversary know the exact weekness of him,ect.which are all the components of one’s greatness.
To conclude,while we affirm the positive functions of the offspring’s evaluation to their ancients,we should notn deny the effectiveness of contemporaries’contributions,which is also of importance as well.

个人认为最主要的是你的观点要简明，就是其实你只要写同意他们的观点的部分就可以了，要是都写会不会感觉主题不突出的？
第一段On the other hand前面好象没有ON ONE HAND对应，我不确定这样用是不是也是可以的。不过第一段要是有个实际例子就更好了。
