The speaker contends that students should bring a certain skepticism to what ever they study. That means they should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively. I wholeheartedly agree with the assertion. As it is a basic factor which serves students to study, in my opinion, skepticism is a very important ability which students should hand.

First, skepticism can improve the creativeness of students, which is necessary for studying. Skepticism means there are some questions or disagreements with the knowledge which has been developed. It is sometimes even an action that students try to go against the old laws of academic. Thus, if students achieve something, it properly means that they have found something different with the present knowledge, that there may be some mistakes in the present knowledge, and that the students maybe even constitute some new theories or discover new phenomena. Therefore, the creative work is done, which is benefit for the academic. As we know, many significant discovery or achievement is made by skepticizing the old authorities, such as those theory that the sun is the centre of the university, the time and space are relative concepts, human has evolved from other creatures, and the forth. Without skepticizing, no advanced will be made.

Second, skepticism is also a good way for students to study. Not every question can lead to an improvement in academic, so not every students can do a significant creative job. It does not means that skepticism is not necessary to those who have not achieved something by questioning what they are taught. While a certain student raise a question to the textbook or the teacher, it is quite likely that he or she dose not understand the point completely, given that there is no mistake with what the student is taught. During the procedure he or she seeks for the answer, the students has to review over and over what he or she has been taught; he or she also need to find books or other materials related to the doubtable question; and, he or she may discuss the question with his or her teachers or classmates. After that, the students will certainly gain more information about the question and the point of knowledge. The understanding of what has been taught is surely deeper and steadier.

However, today's education gives little chance for the students to skepticize what they are learning. The work orientation of the society makes schools the place as a training center for job where students is imposed with masses of skills needed for finding a job, and have no time to skepticize or really absorb the knowledge. As in China, there are many similar cases that after a teacher says a wrong thing by mistake, students of the whole class make the wrong answer in exams. This is not good for the students and the aim of education.

To sum up, I insist that students need skepticism, which is important to both the innovation of their mind and the efficiency of the studying and teaching. Our science theory need skepticism and the process of learning ask for raising question. Without the fundamental factor, education will turn out to be of no use and waste of money.

The speaker contends that students should bring a certain skepticism to what ever they study. That means they should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively. I wholeheartedly [有语法问题]agree with the assertion[个人感觉用claim会更好]. As it is a basic factor which serves [用serve不好]students to study, in my opinion, skepticism is a very important ability which students should hand[hand???].
