158The arts (music, dance, visual arts, etc.) are vitally important to students' education and should therefore receive as much emphasis as mathematics, science, reading and other mainstream subjects.

Should the arts have the same importance as mathematics, science, reading and other mainstream subjects? Some people assert that arts should be and only be assistant for mainstream subjects such as mathematics, science, reading and so on. While others argue that it is not necessary for students to have the same emphasis on arts as the mainstream subjects. In my opinion, arts should be put as much as attention as mianstream subjects have.
In the first place, arts can help people develop the mainstream subjects significantly. Einstein is the case in this point. Einstein, one of the most famous scientists due to his fantastic special and general principles of relativity, is not only a great physics, but also a professional musician. It is known that he played the violine beautifully. He always told people that it is his violine that gave him a strange power to help him overcome any problems and bring him inspiration in his pursuit of his famous pirnciples of relativity.
In the second place, arts play a key role for the development of human been's culture. It is well known that human'culture  is composed of two important parts: social culture and natural culture. social culture contains history, visual arts, and so on, while natural culture is mainly about mathematics, physics, chemistry and other mainstream subjects. Any society, if it aims at a prospect future, it should maitain a mutually enriching  relationship between these two parts. It is stupid and totally wrong for peole to ingnore the importance of the arts. Aristole, the famous greek philosopher in history, contributed his famous thoughts to the development of human by leading them to understand themself and this world deeply. Even now, people still apply his thought to solve recent social problems to make a peaceful enviroment to live. Therefore, in students' education, we should put as much emphasis on arts as on the mainstream subjects.
In sum, enducators should never ignore the importance of arts, should encourage students to study in music, dance and other kinds of arts, should correct the attitude of those people who look down upon the arts and overrate the metrit of the mainstream subjects. Becasuse arts are not only important for us as individuals in our pursuit of discoveries in the mainstream subjects, but also for the whole society to become more healthier and develop its culture in a balanced way.
