24. The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds.

I whole-heartedly believe that the human mind will always be superior to machines as soon as machines are made from human-beings; since human create it, it is merely a tool rather than something many people exaggerate or propagate it as a threaten to the very survival of ourselves.

Hollywood films as well as other famous scientific fictions are bombarding everyday try to persuade us to believe that machines, most representative by the robots or super robots, will finally tired of being ruled by the human kind who give their birth, and rose up to against humans; humans, on the other side, are powerless or overwhelming by such situation and more often than not, have no way out. This facts is more aggressive when "deep blue", which consider itself as the most powerful machines or computers in the world, eventually defeated our No.1 chess; in this context, many people are pessimistic about their future and questioning whether our human mind, although claim by our ancestors to be the superior than any other creatures living in earth, are more powerful than products of the invention by human minds. In my opinion, this kind of uncertainty and worry, although represent the deeper insight about the roles of machines plays in the future, nonetheless is merely an illusion.

To begin with, although machines are claming the most accurate and fastest speed than any single human mind as well as its mass memory which will contain innumerable knowledge human can ever imagine, machines cannot make original or creative thinking; instead, machines are merely the accumulations of instructions which our humans set it before and if later, something out of this instruction is happened, then machines will have no idea what to do, let alone do it as fluent and skillful as humans. Perhaps the most delicate design machines is the one American spacecraft brought to the Mars, although it work well in the lab and is supposed to be tackling every obstacles it faces, it stop works because there is a giant rock(it may not be a giant for human kind)block its road ahead from reporting, and that fact may lead us to serious pondering that machines are really just working tools for humans, it can't be survived if fully out of our control.

Our primitive ancestors, living in the cave, once ate the raw food or water that is not boiled, plagued by the diseases and died during young age, they notice that the fire in the forest make some cooked-animals, and this cooked or heated ones are more delicious than those unheated, so in this case, they preserve the fire for their later use; it is hard to imagine that machines have such ability. Furthermore, human civilization is accumulated by a lot of glorious people who make creative decision in unprecedented cases that we cannot account for machines are gaining such quality. For example, when Lincoln faces the national war of American, the whole country are under the danger of being divided, He never been taught this lesson from Washington or some previous presidents, which is perhaps the vital parts in the decision phase of machine; in fact, he has a conviction that one day it will be united and this conviction make him more resolute and do everything he could to defend the rebelling armies from the South, and he made the history. Even more, I think this original ideas human have is rooted in his own experience in live combining with his own understanding and improvising, and this complex human nature cannot fully mastered by the machine.

However, although machine cannot surpass us, if we used properly of machines, we can be more effective than ever. We are living in the computer age, and we are more job-efficiency than any of the generations before; but at the same time, if we put too much reliance on the machine, we'll more likely make big mistakes and thus do a lot of damages that cannot be recanted later. For example, many companies now are complaining their databases are cracking down suddenly and they suffer a great economic loss.

In sum, while I believe that human minds is always more sophisticated and powerful than machines, that doesn't mean that we have fully utilized this machine well. Actually, many mistakes we encounter everyday are the reflection that we put so much faith on this machine. In the last analysis, I think human beings can fully exploit the machine only fully appreciate his powerful ability first.
