PurdueUniversity School of Construction Management Technology Automationand Intelligent Construction (AutoIC) Lab is urgentlyseeking a postdoctoral researcher starting from Fall 2022 (Sept. 1st)to work on construction robotics research. The postdoctoral researcher willtake on all responsibilities of a project manager for a new patent-pending end-effectormanufacturing-implementation-testing-adjustment project including managinglogistics and further technology development, writing and editing publicationsand technical documentations (in collaboration with mentor), givingpresentations as appropriate, writing progress reports, andmentoring/collaborating with undergraduate and graduate students who areinvolved in the execution of the project. The postdoctoral researcher will gothrough the Ignite entrepreneurship training program offered by Purdue Foundry,a cohort-based program for founders looking to start a company in the next 3-9months. The postdoctoral researcher will also be involved in our nationalI-Corps team, and the mentor’s interactions with Purdue Research Foundation fortechnology disclosure, patent applications, and other activities such as annualTech Showcase. Requirements: · Doctoral Degree in Robotics, Technology, CivilEngineering, Construction Management, Architecture (or ArchitecturalEngineering), Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation,Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or other Relevant Fields · Hardware prototyping or manufacturingexperience · Electronics experience · Hands-on experience working with industryrobots (e.g., Kuka, ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa, etc.) · Java, Python or C++ programming background · Strong oral and written communicationskills · Strong self-motivation · Excellent collaborative and interpersonalskills Desirable(Optional): · Interests in commercialization andentrepreneurship · Competed on a college robotics team Interestedapplicants please send your personal statement, CV, degree certificates, transcripts,recommendation letters, TOEFL and GRE scores (as applicable) to ProfessorJiansong Zhang at zhan3062@purdue.edu.
