Skepticism,or critical thinking,a key factor in the development of human civilization ,does help students to pursuit for knowledge and truth.Therefore,I agree with the speaker on the grounds that skepticism may undoubtedly contribute to the progress of the whole human society as well as individual's self-improvement.

The first and foremost reason why I support such a view is that skepticism motivates students to take courage to challenge existing authorities and paradigms.Truth does not come out automatically.Only after numerous times of skepticisions and explorings,can we ultimately unclose the real world.FOR EXAMPLE,the extraordinary famous polish astronomer Copernicus held his own argue that the earth should orbit around the sun, which was obviously opposite to the prevail understanding then. Nevertheless,in the end,the unaltered truth proves his standout theory.Without skepticism,he would miss the chance to bring all the people in the world out of the darkness of ignorance.

In addtion,skepticism would make students participate in the learning more actively and effectively.SUPPOSE one accepts all of the knowledge he or she is stuffed,one would obtain useful information and fallacious ideas or misconceptions as well.More over ,at times ,one may even get confused about the contradicted views.It is undesirable for one's learning,especially young children,who are not well-rounded then and curious about everything.

Last but not least,educators should advocate skepticism amongst students.Admittedly,there is no denying that a lecture without raising
hands for questions,usually difficult to be answered immidiatedly,would be much easier for teachers.But as for stuents,without their own critical thinking ,they would accept the knowledge passively and hardly turn what they learn from the class into their mind.Thus,this way of teaching and learning is not productive.Skepticism is centainly inevitable.

To sum up,from what has been discussed above,it is natural to draw the conclusion that skepticism should be required during the process of one's learning.At last,as what said in Bilble,"Ask,and it will be given to you. "whenever we have a question in mind ,we should never be hesitated to raise our hands .Consequently we can and should pick up the fruit of truth.
