50,In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a prevailing [discuss]是动词,改[discussion] existing in contemporary society that in order to improve the quality of instruction, whether it is a wise choice for the college and university to require all their faculty to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. In my point of view, it is better for the faculty to spend some time working outside the academic but in professions relevant properly.
To begin with, through working in relevant professions, the faculty are这好像主谓不太对,还是我自己错了? able to promote their ability. As it is known to all that knowledge from books merely [感觉MERELY是放FROM 前边的]is rather different from practical experience. A sound example is that according to the Chinese history, during the Spring-Autumn period, in the kingdom of Zhao, there was [a Mr Zhao Kuo]可以这样说吗?感觉怪怪的, a son of a famous general, who had read a large number of books on military, [AND]was proud of himself in that whoever talked with him about military could not surpass him. Consequently, after his father' death, he took over [his position] and become a general. However, when he came to command the real war, what he had learned from the books was not useful enough in practice and thereby, he lost the war and also his and thousands of soldiers’ lives. The story suggests that there is a distance from book to the 把THE去掉可以吗?application. Only through practice can one solve the problems with the knowledge from the books.
In the second place, being taught by a teacher with a large quantity of working experience is beneficial for the students. Because having done much work of the relevant courses, the teacher will get a deeper and more practical understanding, the students will, therefore, receive a kind of knowledge which is much closer [for]CLOSER后边不是跟TO吗? the need of the contemporary society, my professors included. Every time they show us what they have studied for the companies outside, the students will not only reveal an apparent interest but also have a better understanding这个好像不能显示啊? of the knowledge from the books. In conclusion, it is good for the students' studying [还是用STUDY?]if their teachers have much practical experience.
On the other hand, spending too much time [加ON]working rather than teaching will to some extent weaken the quality of instruction. Almost every teacher with a great[不知道责任可不可以用GREAT修饰] responsibility will spend a lot of time preparing. However, if they have to do much work while teaching, their attention will be obviously attracted. As a result, 有因果关系吗?teachers should arrange their time 感觉你前边意思是想说让老师不能在外做太多工作,后边又说要安排好时间,如果工作很多怎么安排都不行啊properly in order to have both their own ability and the teaching quality improved.
To sum up, to pursue a more excellent quality of instruction, the faculty could be required to practice some new steps, with the guarantee of the contemporary satisfaction of the students.
