As we enter the 21st century, the way people communicate with each other has changed a lot to what we used to do. People seldom send paper letters to the others and are more likely to choose to send electronic mail instead. Great changes also took place in how we obtain the information as most of us get information from the well developed television programs and from internet. Someone claim that the changing tends to prevent meaningful and thoughtful communication. However, in my point of view, I consider the benefits we can enjoy weigh much more than what we lose.

Firstly with these well developed technology tools, our meaningful and thoughtful communication is increased rather than weakened. As time is much less in communication than before, people surely have more time to consider what they do not have time to think which can make a further consideration of certain affairs or a board investigation about an unknown  phenomena. What is more, it is the development of technology that enables the human beings to gain more information about the earth they lived thousands of years and the essential rules of the real world what they are influenced and have to obey everyday. With the tool of the technology, we can obtain information in greater number and shorter time. Only with the convenience in acquiring overall information can we make the real meaningful thinking and thus take thoughtful communication with the others.

Secondly what the development of modern communication also contributes to our adaptation to the society is the help in holding the chances. As technology accelerates the speed our society moving ahead, we can keep up with the pace of the world only by technology means. The society nowadays is changing so fast and the competition is so cruel that the opportunity is playing a more important role in the whole procedure of success. However the opportunity is disappeared quite fast as all the thing are changing all the time and the COM petitioners are so numerous in number, we can only use the high speed electronic communication to catch it. To some extents, a fast brief and direct ask for a chance may be much more effective than a well developed and thoughtful application in some field. In fact, as the time is changing, the society is paying more attention at the ability to react immediately and to obtain the opportunity instantly rather than a careful thinking out of the deadline. Thus I consider the high speed electronic communication is really helpful to our modern people.

Admittedly, we have to assess that as we choose the electronic media, we have given up some good habits in conveying our thoughts in the traditional way such as paper letter. When one writing a letter on paper, he will undoubtedly much more careful of the content he take, the way he expresses it, the elegancy of the hand writing etc. And it is most common that he reviews the letter several times before he finally sends it. However as far as our email is concerned, sometimes we do not spend even five minutes to finish reading their letters carefully enough at all, and thus how can we correctly communicate with them effectively? The not so good habit is mainly determined by the modern value of communication, which may makes us a bit shame indeed in compare with our ancestors. And more attention should be paid in the field so that we express our respects to the persons we communicated.

In summary, I would like to recommend that the overall condition of effective and thoughtful communication is improved by the means of the developed technology. As people in the modern society has less and less chance to communicate and express our inner side of mind to the others, we should cherish the conveniences the technology brings about to us and make good use of modern communication to lead a happier and meaningful life from now on.
