Many people admire idealism, but it usually leads to disappointment or trouble.

Idealism, or ideal, is one of the key words of our time, however, which is not a new word. It was created thousands of years ago, from Plato, the famous Greece philosopher, described his ideals in his work-the Republic to the German political philosopher Carl Marx's communism. All of the idealists have defined their own content with their unique eyes. Indeed, many people admire idealism, as the speaker of the statement indicates, but usually it leads to disappointment or trouble. Is it so? As far as I am concerned, I hold that idealism is properly balanced by reality will not bring us disappointment or trouble, but confidence and hope.

Actually, idealism, which is not based on reality, will do more harm than good to individuals as well as communities, sometimes even a nation. First of all, ideal not based on one's ability, is equally to fantasy. It is one of the natures of human being that pursuing perfect and do things better as possible. However, some ideals not properly made, which are beyond one's ability, will not only result in depression, impatience, or annoyance, but also not obtain an effective method to their problems. Such examples are so many that according to our personal experiences. Secondly, ideals easily cause one judging situation correctly because of their own subjective thinking and value imposed on it. A good example in the case is that the Daewoo Motor Corporation was bankrupted in the year 2000, which was once a prominent enterprise and made thousands of Korean proud, for from its nascent period to an international well-known company just spend 20 years. It is because of the idealists, who overestimated the market's demand for mobiles and wanted to realize their more ambitious dreams, of the company blindly and unlimitedly extended its scale and production. In this situation, the whimsy results came. Another typical example is China's great Leap Forward campaign in 50s of last century, which was launched by Chinese Communist Party. The original aim of this movement was to accomplish the economic and technical development and catch up with advanced nations, but unfortunately, they didn't consider the background and situation in China at that time and consequently lead to great famine in Chinese history.

On the other hand, however, ideal is indispensable for one to realize his objectives. Firstly, proper ideal means to establish the goal and destination that direct his working orientation either in the recent or long run. It is the very source for one to make relentless endeavors. For an insight boss, he will properly judge the market and the public's voices, when he sets his ideal; for a responsible politician, when he sets his ideal, he will certainly serve his citizens effectively .All these bring them impetus and enthusiasm to strive for their ideals.

Admittedly, frustration and depression are unavoidable in the process of perusing their ideals. One should envision these negative emotions in an objective way and conquer them. In the road to success-idealism, one should properly balance their goal with reality. Failure and depression don't matter to a persevering heart, the most of importance is find to what the problems are and effectively solve them.

In the final analysis, idealism, or ideal, is one of most loyal objectives of one's life, as an individual, for which he may devote his whole striving for it. So do a community and a nation. If these promising ideals are properly balanced by reality according to their own cases, it will certainly bring us encourage, confidence, strength, and hope, which lead to our destination.
