Issue175: 422 words  45 minutes
It is always an individual who is the impetus for innovation; the details may be worked out by a team, but true innovation results from the enterprise and unique perception of an individual.

Is it always an individual who is the impetus for true innovation? Can a team only work out the details? In my opinion, the answer to the questions depends on how to define the "true innovation". If it means the greatest ideas, theories, invents, etc, I tend to support this issue. Otherwise, if it means innovation that is not so great, it can be accomplished by either a team or individual.

In the history, there are many great innovations, such as Newton's gravity theory, Einstein's relativism, and Watt's stream engine. From these innovations, we can easily see that they are resulted from enterprise and unique perception of an individual. Newton's idea came from a knock on his head of an apple from a tree; Watt saw the kettle boil and sat down to build a stream engine. Einstein, although we don't know the specific process of his creation of relativism, yet we are sure that this theory was created all by himself---because there were only three people all over the world were able to understand the relativism after Einstein had created it.  Greatest ideas can only be found out by those who have both gifts and chances. However, gifts and chances usually don't belong to one person. Thus, greatest innovations are always accomplished by greatest innovation. If the "true innovation" means greatest innovations, I am afraid all of us must admit that it really results form the enterprise and unique perception of an individual.

On the other hand, if we explain the "true innovation" as anything, the answer will be quite different. This kind of innovation is most likely accomplished by a team, especially in the modern world. In my department of university, there are 2981 technical invents these ten years, more than 90% of them are finished by research groups. In every research group, there are usually meetings every one or two weeks, in which members discuss their ideas and together solve problems. A professor once said, "If anyone of my research group left, I can not finish all of these great jobs." Thus, we have to say, if the innovation is not the greatest and can be understood by many persons, then it is more likely be accomplished by a team. This is because many persons can give their ideas and make the innovation easier.

To sum up, how to respond to this issue totally depends on how to explain the meaning of "true innovation". Greatest innovations are usually accomplished by greatest individual, while common innovations are usually accomplished by a team.

观点挺新颖,论证也不错,只是觉得在第二段加上集体不能互相交流而创造伟大创新就更好了,我是看了第三段才明白第二段的,个人意见,仅供参考
