Postdoc and Ph.D. positions in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong in the area of Cell Mechanics and Nanobiotechnology
Dr. Yuan LIN’s group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong is looking for highly motivated Postdocs and PhD students to work in the area of Cell Mechanics and Nanobiotechnology. Selected postdoc candidates can start immediately while PhD students are expected to begin their study in the Spring or Fall 2023.
Qualification
For the postdoc position: Individuals with PhD degree from all science and engineering majors, especially Mechanics, Soft Matter Physics and Biomedical Engineering, are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a strong background in theoretical modelling and numerical simulation or extensive experimental experience in biomaterials, nanobiotechnology and tissue engineering. For the PhD position: applicants should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanics, physics, biomedical engineering or related disciplines. Research experience in either experiment or simulation and publications are preferred but not required.

Scholarships
Successful Ph.D. applicants will receive a scholarship of at least 18030 HKD/month. Outstanding Ph.D. applicants have the opportunity to obtain the HKU Presidential Ph.D. Scholar (~400K HKD/year).

About Dr. LIN
Dr. LIN received the BS and MS degrees in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University. After that, he obtained a MS degree in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, followed by a Ph.D. degree in Solid Mechanics. Recent PhD graduates from Dr. LIN’s group have found faculty positions in top Chinese Universities such as University of Science and Technology of China and Harbin Institute of Technology.
