Reform is seldom brought about by people who are concerned with their own reputation and social standing. Those who are really in earnest about reforming a government, an educational system, or any other institution must be willing to be viewed with disdain by the rest of the world.
Are reforms always brought by those who are devoted in reforming and not concerned with their own interests, such as reputation and states quo? As my point of view, a truly 用形容词and thoroughly reform really need a leader who is earnest in(the reform itself我觉得用热心reforming a government, an educational system, or any other institution比较好,这里用REFORM ITSELF感觉象为了做一个事情而做一个事情,而不是为了一个结果做一个事情。PS:这个题目个人认为是说一个人是为了自己利益这个结果还是促进社会这个结果而进行改革). However, it may not be true that reformers would always ruin reputation and social standing as a result of reform.这句话感觉跑题了。题目讨论的是个人能接受被误解而不是肯定要被误解
To begin with, any one who want to conduct reform truly need to get a preparation of attacks and also resistance from the society, since the nature of reform is doomED to be distain by a certain group of people. Reform is the way to change the status quo to some extent and more or less impairs不要S some people's vested interests as it is conducted. It is also true that no one would prefer to give up their own social standing, privilege and also economic advantages. Thus, by the time the reform is brought out, these people would definitely stand out as the primary resistance to reform and try every effort to demonstrate the reform brings more disadvantages than the possible benefits. Moreover, the reformer would also be these resistance 's targets which could further calumniate the reform and mislead the majority whichWHO are in neutral position. In history, as we could perceive, when Copernicus publish his theory of Heliotropism, the Roman Papacy turnED their abuse on him and also disabuseD him as A heresy. Therefore, as the example illustrated, reformers of any field should be ready ofTO attackS from particular groups.
Further, people who are only concerned with their own reputation ,generally speaking, could not conduct a reform, at least a thoroughly and effective one. These kindS of people would hesitate whether to continue when their own interests are at stake, since their objective is not TO reform to benefit the society, but to reform to maintain OR GAIN THEIR reputation。 or gain reputation删. However这里用这个词不好,什么意思?, AS IT IS KNOWN TO ALL/IN COMMON SENSE, every reform involves the situation of ruining of social standing and reputation of reformers, at least in the beginning of reform. Take the Qin Dynasty of China as example. The government in the later nineteenth century did claim for a reform in order to keep up with the world trend. But, in fact, their only objective iswas to maintain their dominating position and just utilized a few superficial measures which were still far behind the times.(far away from the usual way of western world.西方又不一定好) Finally, the mass overturnED the government and began the real reform of China.
Thus,这个词用这里不合适 the evidence surely换个词 demonstrated/S my assertion that only not concerning with own' sake, could the reformer achieve success.
这段我觉得不该写,就是对你的中心不是很必要,我就不看了^_* In addition, I should admit that reformers does not always lead to a situation of declination in reputation and social standing. The reform is largely a redistribution of interests in certain perspective, and the reform is not necessarily doom to failure. Therefore, for those lead a successful reform that finally proves to be beneficial and accepted by majority, their reputation would be regained and even more highly than the time before their reform. Deng Xiaoping ,the reform leader of China' opening policy, could serve the good example. He is now highly esteemed by Chinese government and ordinary people, although when the reform was firstly carried out , he was considered as extreme rightist by most of Chinese communists.
Is it not true that interests of reformers could also change consequently with the process of reform?
To sum up, reform is a real task that only those who have the courage to risk (take删) their interests (at risk删) could assume. Nevertheless, if the reform succeeds, the reward to the reformers are also significant indeed. |
