Position of Both Doctor and Post-doctoral Fellow for 2023
The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong

The appointee will work on the France-Hong Kong collaborated project “Language Contact and Areal Diffusion of Sinitic Languages in the Greater Bay Area”, led by Dr. Wang Cong and funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong Joint Research Scheme. Both position of Doctor and Post-doctoral Fellow are available for 2023.

The main duties include conducting background study and literature review, editing, designing research instruments, as well as collecting and analyzing data/related information. He/she will also assist in report/journal article writing, grant applications, and any other research-related tasks assigned by the supervisor. The appointment will be for a period of 30 months for Post-doctoral Fellow and a period of 36 months for Doctor with high-competence salary.

Applicants should have a Master Degree for Doctor position or have a Doctoral Degree for Post-doctoral Fellow position in linguistics, in particular in language contact and linguistic typology. He/she should also have rich experience in language fieldwork, strong analytical skills, excellent command of written and spoken English, high proficiency of Chinese in reading and writing, and good interpersonal skills. Research interest or experience in using qualitative data analysis software will be advantageous. Applicants with international peer-reviewed publications are preferable.
