17,There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws.

Laws, which are enacted by the fewer , are inevitably unjust to a part of people. Some critics hold the opinion that the individuals in a society have responsibilities to obey just laws but more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws. However, in my point of view, it is a guarantee for the contemporary stability of the entire society to obey the laws while it is an insurance of the well-being in the future to perfect the unjust laws.

To begin with, it is necessary for every person to obey the laws. Given that the laws have already come into effect/force, it begins to act as a public restriction, which should be obeyed by everyone so as to maintain a sound order of the society. If some one breaks the laws, which is considered a should-not-do by the public, it is apparently that he should be published. Otherwise, the majority of the society will feel it unfair and thereby lose faith for the government.

In the second place, to resist the laws is impossible since the laws are carried out with a force by the army of the country. It is known to all that every country has its own army to guarantee the stability of the society. Some people, who wanted to escape from punishment, proved to result in even severer sentences. Such as those who ran away after having knocked people down by car or participated in murders, would be arrested throughout the country even around the world. Therefore, it is unlikely for people to resist the laws by some useless measure.

In addition, to achieve a higher civilization, the country should pay attention to perfect the laws. With the development of the society and the progress of the civilization, people will come to realize some laws that enacted in the past can not fit the contemporary condition or even considered a error by the public, such as the black and women had no right to receive education and vote. As the cognition promoted, people started to know that it was unfair because everyone has equal rights. Thus, they made effort to abolish the laws. Also, people will add some new items in order to perfect the law and thereby promote the well-being of the society.

To sum up, laws are a restriction of the behaviors for the public, people should obey the laws and at the same time seek to perfect the laws, with the advancement of the time.
