Issue138: 645 words 55 minutes
Only through mistakes can there be discovery or progress.
观点:mistakes, to some extent, can lead to discoveries or progress, while mistakes do not equal to those.
In the contemporary world, most people regard mistakes as obstacles to discoveries or progress. Actually, they are both products of the same process. As the famous Chinese Ping Pang ball player Deng yaping said, "An activity which produces a hit may also generate a miss.” In my point of view, mistakes, to some extent, can lead to discoveries or progress, while mistakes do not equal to those.
First of all, on the way to discoveries or progress, to mistake is almost inevitable. In the realms of science, before a well-presented theory is founded, hardly can one assure that one can achieve the goal without any tiny mistakes. Take the invention of light bulb for example, after numerous mistakes, Edison ultimately finds the appropriate material for the lighting. Due to the unpredictable factors, there is nearly no probability that one can obtain the success at one's first attempt. That is why Edison has to make thousands of mistaken choices. In the realms of arts, when a writer begins to create literatures, his first work may not be well accepted by readers because of a few mistakes in writing which the author may not realize then. Wang peng, a well-known editor in China Daily, told his students a story that his first 10 reports were all rejected by the chief editor because he had made some fatal some vital mistakes 给我的感觉是工作不认真,汗,而且和后面的的make important discovery and progress 连接不上,你要说的是通过这些错误如何更深刻的认识问题避免以后犯错才能成功。还有这个算art么?mistakes in reporting news. So, if a beginner has a desire to make important discoveries or get progressed, he or she should prepare to make mistakes first. 不是should prepare to make mistakes啊,是要expect可能会有mistakes。 Even for experts, who may not worry about some stupid or meaningless mistakes,无论什么形式,这不还是mistakes么?说他们比正常人认真比较严谨些 mistakes are not strange to them unless they are careful enough at every detail and in every second. Unfortunately, almost no one can manage that. For instance, Beckham, the shining soccer star in the world, who has an outstanding shooting skill, makes an unforgivable mistake during the match with Argintina, 错,Argentinawhich prevents England from the champinship of the world cup. Thus, it is not overrating that mistakes are always around us whether we like them or not.
More over,一个词 learning from the mistakes contributes to discovery or progress. At most cases, mistakes help us find out what is unworkable and hence we can approach the right solution. It is reported that among the 56 Nobel Price gainers surveyed, 96.4% of them admitted that they have ever made mistakes when they are on their way to the innovations. 哼!who won the Physics Nobel Price several years ago said (and I paraphrase) "During our first experiment, we make a lot of mistakes. After we review our methods, conclude the reasons and try another way, the results are far better. Thanks to the lessons of the mistakes. Therefore, mistakes are precious experience which would certainly pave a way for our discovery or progress instead of a stumbling stone.
Admittedly, if one is lucky enough, one may probably success at the first attempt and this would seem impossible according to common sense and experience. Also, there is no denying that it is a human being’s nature that one would pursue fame and profit. After all, undoubtedly, no one is always a mistake-lover. Thus, most people abhor or even fear making mistakes. It is completely unnecessary. What is significant is not mistake itself but the attitude one cherishes when confronting mistakes. A wise man would make best use of mistakes and would not drop in the same trap twice. Only dull men fear mistakes and stop advancing so asso as的后面是果前面是因吧,反了 not to make so called “undesirable mistakes”.
To sum up, "To err is human." We may make various kinds of mistakes during our daily life and there are no necessities to fear them. We should better bear in mind that mistakes would not turn into any discovery or progress automatically. What makes sense is what we would act after we have realized the mistakes. No reasonably treating mistakes, no discovery or progress.
