Dr. Zhihong Pang's research group in the Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management - LSU at Louisiana State University is currently offering two Ph.D. positions. Both positions are fully funded and come with tuition, living stipends, and benefits. They are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or relevant fields. While a Master's Degree is preferred, it is not compulsory.

Candidates with research experience in Building Energy Modeling, Intelligent Building Controls, Sensing Technologies, Measurement & Verification, or Data Science are given priority. This is a fantastic opportunity for driven individuals who are passionate about research and want to contribute to the field of sustainable building technologies.
Dr. Zhihong Pang holds a Bachelor's degree in Built Environment and Energy Engineering from Tongji University, earned in 2017, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, completed in 2022. Throughout his doctoral studies, he has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and conference proceedings, accumulating over 700 citations. Dr. Pang has received numerous awards for his research, including the Best Student Paper Award at the 2021 Building Simulation Conference (hosted by IBPSA) in Bruges, Belgium, and the Best Research Paper Award from the Building Simulation journal in 2020. He was also the recipient of the Best Ph.D. Research Award and PF2ME Fellowship at Texas A&M University.


Louisiana State University is located in Baton Rouge, the capital of Louisiana, and is a one-hour drive from New Orleans. The university is the flagship institution of the Louisiana State University System and has a great influence in the southern and southeastern United States.
