PhD Positions in DeepLearning/Computer Vision

Ph.D. positions with fullfinancial support are now available in Dr. Ying Liu’s group in the Departmentof Computer Science and Engineering at Santa Clara University (SCU). Dr. Liu islooking for self-motivated PhD students to work on image/video processing,machine learning and deep learning. The PhD program has three start dates:

•           Fall Quarter starts in September;

•           Winter Quarter starts in January;

•           Spring Quarter starts in late March.

Dr. Ying Liu is anAssistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering atSanta Clara University. Her research focuses on image and video processing,deep learning, high-dimensional data, and compressed sensing. Her researcharticles are published in IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for VideoTechnology (TCSVT), IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM), IEEE Access,Elsevier Journal of Pattern Recognition, Multimedia Tools and Applications,SPIE Journal of Electronic Imaging (JEI), and prestigious conferences such asICASSP, ICIP, ISCAS, SPIE DCS, and IEEE Asilomar conference. Her research isfunded by the National Science Foundation and industrial grant. She’s anAssociate Editor of TCSVT, a reviewer of many top-ranked journals and she alsoserves as the technical program committee member of multiple internationalconferences.

Requirements:

•           M.S. degree (or about to graduate) in ComputerScience/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automation.

•           Solid mathematical background and strong programmingskills in Python, Matlab and C++.

•           Experience in image processing, video coding, deeplearning, machine learning, or computer vision. Experience in deep learningprogramming such as tensorflow, pytorch, keras, caffe.

•      GRE score.

•           TOEFL/IELTS scores for international students.

•           Strong motivation in cutting-edge research and paperpublication.
