First of all, mistakes teach lessons to people what are wrong and should be avoided, thus guide them into the right way to facts and truth. I believe that most of us have the experience in school to make mistakes when using the principles and formula to work out a mathematical or physical problem under the unsuitable circumstance. The wrong answer then reminds us the range of application of such principles and formula. Thus people have the awareness of in what situation can these principle be used; also people have to turn to other principles to find the solution after the analysis of the reason of the mistakes. From this point of view, mistakes help people in an indirect way to find truth and limitation.

In addition, often the breakthrough in academic field lies in the "accidental" mistakes in the process of discovery. For supporting example, one needs to look no further than the discovery of "Penicillin"-- a chemical from the refining blue mold. The researcher's mistakes to bring blue mold into the vessel of the bacteria, which are not permitted and considered "unforgivable" fault, generated the unexpected effect of certain chemical in blue mold to kill the bacteria. Eventually this mistake brought the discovery of penicillin and brought the breakthrough both in Physiology and medicine research. Without the mistakes of the research, it is hard to imagine the situation of public health and therapy; people may still hold the belief that the fungi are useless and harmful to human beings. Therefore, mistakes, often accompanied with accidents, offer people opportunity to find something new and to break the doctrine.

However, as I pointed out in the beginning of the article, mistakes are not destination of our action. Consider a world filled with mistakes and faults with no truth and rightness. Then what are the mistakes for? The society would trap into a labyrinth without outlets; people made mistakes to attain new mistakes rather than the truth and the rightness. The imaginative scene is ridiculous and horrible in which there will never be significant discoveries and true progress.

In conclusion, mistakes should be considered as tool to lead us obliterating mistakes in the past and avoiding them in the future. From mistakes we gain experience to seek for the truth behind the mask, then to make discoveries and progress.

However, I have to point out these positive effects could be attained by the proper aspects and suitable actions towards mistakes.
