In any field of inquiry, the beginner is more likely than the expert to make important discoveries.
------正文------
Is the beginner of any research field more likely than the expert to make important discoveries as the author asserted? As far as I am concerned, it should not be so cursory to make the conclusion that beginners are much easier to make great feats to human beings. In fact, the condition should be considered case by case. The common situation is that beginners are prone to establish new ideas in theoretical fields, while in some experimental related areas; it's harder for beginners to find new things than experts.

In some theoretical fields, beginners’ creative thinking and cognition are beneficial for them to make important discoveries. As the beginners are less limited by the existent knowledge or theoretical structure, their characteristics of innovation help them outweigh the thought of experts. Furthermore, they are always full of energy and vigor, which happens to meet the theoretical discoveries needs. Einstein, the famous physicist, concluded the theory of relativity at his 25 years old; Bohr, the founder of quantum mechanics, put forward the new doctrine of atomic orbit when he was 27; and Dirac, who established relativistic quantum mechanics, succeeded in his 27. They were so young that they did not set foot in these theoretical fields for a long time, but they all made big contributions which benefits the whole people in the world. So, in SUCH fields, beginners can establish important discoveries than experts.

However, it is not always the case in every research area, which needs experience rather than the spark of mind, such as experimental science and technological fields. For example, the Madame Curie and Peter Curie spent four years in laboratory trying to find out the radioactive element and at last extracted only 0.12 gram of useful ingredient from several tons of  pitch. Without thousands of failure and accumulated experience, the success could not come to them. Another case is point is Kinsey whose report firstly brought forward distinguished theory to American gender problem (性学问题,不知道该怎么说). His success was attributed to analyzing phenomena and statistical a large amount of data, which could not be finished by a greed hand. So it is not possible for the beginners to get achievement when comes to subjects which need painstaking experiment. Only with the experts' decision and acquirements, the successful results could be got.

If the beginners and experts could cooperate with each other, it is significant to achieve wanted results. As the beginners' imagination and agility tend to find new ways of resolution, their thoughts will not be qualified by the previous ones. The experts, however, are full with sophisticated skills in pragmatic activities, and they know more about the mobility of certain field. Thus it is experts' experience and knowledge which can compensate the beginners' ignorance of the history or the whole situation of current research. The process of discovery of Kepler’s law is a good example. After over ten years of he’s teacher’s observation to the movement of celestial bodies and experienced summarization of data, he concluded Kepler’s law from his unique and exceeded scope. Given the cooperation of experts and beginners, any fields of inquiry could reach an undeterminable outcome.

To sum up, beginners are the growing strength to a field, and their construction will bring innovative discoveries to resolve some difficult problems which frustrate experts for many years. On the other hand, experts' leading role of certain subjects should not be ignored, which would retrench time in doing repeating works by beginners. Further, it is important for experts and beginners to cooperate and exert their advantages to improve the science development.

个人认为因为题目是说In any field of inquiry,强调了any,所以在首段批其说法不好好像不太恰当,直接说case by case就可以了,另外同意二楼的说法,年轻不一定就是biginner,不要为堆例子而堆。结构,语言都不错!加油!:)

第二段末句改为:...succeeded in his 27. They were so young that they couldnot do a long time research in these fields, and they do be beginners, but they all made big contributions from which the whole world benefits. So, in SUCH fields, beginners can establish important discoveries than experts.{就是把为什么这些领域的年轻人可以视为beginner的原因简单说了一下}。 这是否本例就说的通了呢?

感觉pringle的语言挺好的,希望你多发作文,让我学习学习:)

个人觉得你对年轻和BEGINNER的关系就不用说明了,说也说不明白的,因为其中没什么必然联系,老实说,你举的例子中多半不是BEGINNER:)

Furthermore, they are always full of energy and vigor精力旺盛有朝气:)简直就是在说年轻人的特点

抽象代数的创建者在20岁前就建立了这门新的理论,但他也不能算BEGINNER,他不足10岁就研究到大致高等数学的深度了

觉得你的B1 和 B2 简直就是 天才VS勤奋的智者:)

不过全文感觉很好:)

关于第二段实在是没法举到例子了。 我是这么理解的:在理论研究领域中,beginner不一定岁数小,但岁数小的人一般是beginner。 不过大家看来:这些岁数小的人,同时又是天才。是天才让其成功,而不是beginner的角色让其成功。
别人都是怎么举例子的?

一个建议:

你可以改一下文章的结构:)
A 基础学科------象数学,物理……日趋成熟,BEGINNER很少有所发现,奋斗在前沿的多为EXPERT,他们往往能做出大的DISCOVER,即使BEGINNER有DISCOVER也是少数,不能说MORE LIKELY

B一些误区,很多人会举出一些年轻人,他们在新兴的领域有所建树,但你可以说他们其实不是BEGIINER,ALTHOUGH 年轻,要想有DISCOVER一般还是要有很好的学科基础的

C也许有些人还会举出一些真的是BEGINNER却做出DISCOVER的人
(我是举不出来:),在你看来也许爱因斯坦是),实际上,你可以说他们更多的是因为他们超常的智商,而不是BEGINNER的立场
:) 即便还有那么两个特例,智商不突出又是BEGINNER阶段做出成就的,我想那也绝不是MORE LIKELY

感觉写issue文章,要从题设提出自己的观点。这个观点可以是有错的,但论证充分,应该也可以。关键是论证是否能支持论点,例子能否支持论证过程。 beginner和年轻人的关系,确实有问题。
我想改的方法是:还用这些例子,但不去说这些人的年轻和天才,只说其从事研究时间短(爱因斯坦当时正读博士学位),就有了发现,来支持我的分论点“beginner在研究领域发现更快,因为他们没有禁锢,好奇心强(这个分论点和年轻没关系)”。
