issue4其他领域知识对本领域发展的重要
"No field of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study."
1.社会发展了,各个学科之间有所交叉
2.其它学科的知识和经验可以丰富本学科的研究
3.Admittedly,如果本学科和其它领域知识结合,r人们将产生更大的进步
In this statement, the author asserts that only when the outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study, this field can advance significantly. In my point of view, I fundamentally agree with the author's opinion, for tremendous fields are interacting with each other and have some relations.
To begin with, in the era of sharp development of society, lots of fields interact. Therefore outsiders’ knowledge and experience will bring significant progress in the field. Here is a good example that could appropriately and fittingly prop up this point. Bioinformatics, which refers to biology, information science, and mathematics, is a interacting field. In the field of bioinformatics, many of the scholar’s major are computer science, biology, chemistry, applied mathematics. They bring the patterns and ideas to this field and bring a new field. With their efforts, biology has played an significant role during the science and indeed advance tremendously.
Furthermore, as is known that lots of fields have experienced tremendous changes and become mature, with the new knowledge and experience of outsides they may widen the sphere of research. Take computer science as an example. From the first computer--ENIAC to the personal computer, it has experienced many years, and many research realm of the area have become successful. However, with the need of software, a new field comes from computer science----software engineering. Considerable methods of software engineering are totally different from computer science. So many scholars of computer science come to this field with their knowledge and experience. And software engineering makes great progress during the past thirty years. From this example I have given, we can conclude that the outsides' knowledge and experience is very necessary and important.
In addition, even though researchers can usually get inspiration from studying other fields, they can not make big progress with the knowledge of their own field. The invention of radar is a good example .During a long period ,it is a problem interrupting scientists to locate subjects accurately .While by researching an ordinary animal ,a bat ,they find the key to this problem .By sending out a certain kind of sound waves ,and receiving those reflected ,bats locate subjects ,the mechanism of which enlightens scientists ,who invent the radar universally used today. Without the knowledge of biology, people can not think using weave to locate the position; without the experience of researching how to locate subjects accurately, even if people know the bats, they can not use weaves to do it. This illustrates the importance of interacting knowledge and experience, and by doing so, people can make great progress.
In conclusion, with the explosion of knowledge, the relation between different realms become more and more complicated, and the interacting knowledge and experience play a tremendous part in every field. |
