------题目------
It is the artist, not the critic,* who gives society something of lasting value.
*a person who evaluates works of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc.
------正文------
There is much debate over whether the artist or the critic is more important for bringing us lasting value. In fact, the debate cannot stop, because both sides of this debate can present some persuasive evidence to support their issue. However, in my opinion, artists play a more important role in creating and delivering lasting value.

Many great works of art give us a heartquake deeply even at first glance, because they hold the naturally and powerfully artistic strength, which can easily resonate us. People usually understand and appreciate the outstanding and most famous works, although the degrees and tastes of them may be drastically different. Let us review some outstanding masterpieces. The eternal and mystery smile of Leonardo da Vinci's famous Mona Lisa makes us easy and comfortable; the affecting story of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet brings us romance and real love; the natural performance of Monet's Sunrise gives us light and willingness; the exciting rhythms of Beethoven's nine symphonies bear us energy and confidence. All of these great works without critic's comment make us moved due to the inherent energy of them.

However, we admit that sometimes we gain a common sense when we first meet a great masterpiece. In this time, maybe we need critic's comment about the work. In fact, the critic is the one who try to seek the background information of these works such as the age, the social condition, and the author's experience, as well as the original idea of the work. With all of the information, we can appreciate the work in different and comprehensive perspective. For instance, Van Gogh, as a postimpressionist painter, created many great works such as a series of sunflower and Starry Night. The ones in his time did no appreciate almost all of his works, and he sold only one of his paintings before he was dead at the age of 37. However, critics' comment and work of seeking the covered information behind these paintings draw us into a world of impressionistic art. In some sense, it is critic's work that gives light to Van Gogh, which makes him remembered by the world.

Although critics to some extent are necessary, they cannot play a more significant role in creating the lasting value of great works instead of artists. After all, a wonderful comment must be based on a great work of art. Moreover, not all the average people tend to believe what the critics said, many people especially those is highly educated are inclined to evaluate and appreciate the work of art with their own standard, and thus enjoy the real happiness from appreciating.

In conclusion, we need not to blame any critics, because their critic work is professional and relatively objective in some sense thus should be respected. However, for the point of lasting value, we must pay more attention to the artist who brings us beauty and terrific sense through their great works.
Nothing is important but love.

There is much debate over whether the artist or the critic is more important for bringing us lasting value. In fact, the debate cannot stop, because (due to the fact that会好一些?) both sides of this debate can present some persuasive evidence to support their issue. However, in my opinion, artists play a more important role in creating and delivering lasting value.

Many great works of art give us a heartquake deeply even (?) at first glance, because they hold the naturally and powerfully artistic strength, which can easily resonate (+s) us. All of these great works without critic's comment make us moved due to (觉得这里用BY好?) the inherent energy of them.

Moreover, not all the average people tend to believe what the critics said, many people especially those is highly educated are inclined to evaluate and appreciate the work of art with their own standard, and thus enjoy the real happiness from appreciating.

In conclusion, we need not to blame (do not need to blame/ need not blame) any critics (any+单数?), because their critic (critical) work is professional and relatively objective in some sense thus should be respected. However, for the point of lasting value, we must pay more attention (+s) to the artist who brings us beauty and terrific sense through their great works.
