------题目------
Although innovations such as video, computers, and the Internet seem to offer schools improved methods for instructing students, these technologies all too often distract from real learning.
------正文------
In the modern society developing with rapid speed, the involvement of high-tech innovations such as video, computer and the Internet of educational process is unavoidable. Accordingly, the debate on whether it offers improved methods for instructing or distracts the students from real learning arises. As far as I am concerned, these innovations bring more benefits rather than damage the education, although the distraction does happen sometimes; and such distraction could be decreased or even eliminate if treated properly.
High-tech innovations, as listed in the topic, are bringing many revolutions to traditional educational methods, thus to bring fresh to the doctrine that the education process is merely the passively acceptance. First of all, as defined as the innovations with high-tech, videos and other facilities are distinguished mostly for their utilization of images and films-- the direct and effective way for students to digest knowledge with more curiosity. For example in the course of Zoology of Batony, videos offer students reality and precise process of how a leopard seek for their food or the complete living process of a plant. The teachers, no matter how keen they are and how careful they choose the words, cannot convince the students what reality is. I is believed that the boring words and description lack of vividness usually make enhancement hard and trap both themselves and the students in bore that both of them desire nothing but escape from the class. The innovations, from this point of view, decrease the peril that eliminates the curiosity of the students and passion of the teachers to great extent.
Moreover, these innovations, almost all, need the participation of the students so that raise the curiosity and interests of students towards the learning and interaction. For supporting example one needs to look no further on the widely-spreading utilization of computers in schools and universities. With the help of computers and teaching software teacher can receive the feedback from student immediately and also can be asked and questioned any moment without the disturbance and interruption in the teaching; thus he/she could adjust the speed of teaching, the method of solution, and even the attitudes and manners in the class. The process will go much easier since both of the students and the teachers are to some extent equal in the same classroom rather the traditional methods in which teachers give speech in accordance to their own habits and thinking patterns while the students absorbed passively with no opportunity to question and criticize.
Thirdly, these utilization of these innovations create the opportunity of the accomplishment of distant education and the increase in the efficiency of the teacher-and-student communication. Computers and Internet connect people in every corner of the earth. It is no longer ridiculous for a teacher on business in New York to discuss and give speech to students in Los Angeles, or for a professor in France to sign the homework and correct the papers from Asia. Accordingly, the efficiency of the education is increased and more misunderstanding can be avoided-- to some extent improve the effectiveness of the education.
Admittedly, when introduced and utilized improperly, these innovations may distract the attention of the students, or even to addict them to forget the original purpose to use these innovations. The computer games and DVD are among the most serious "killers" of the educational process, as a newspaper has surveyed and concluded. However, given more investigation and analysis, it is not difficult to find out that this damage upon education could be avoided or even diminished if the parents and teachers introducing these tools properly. The correct attitude towards the purpose of these tools has to be built since the first day the students getting acquaintance to such innovations. Also the adjustment should be done as soon as the bad habit appears. Thus the educational process could maintain healthy and have further development; the students could better get knowledge and skill by these high-tech tools.
In all, these innovations which have brought troubles to the educational process have brought much more beneficial to the learning and teaching. The utilization should be carried on to gain more success meanwhile with more carefulness to avoid the distraction and damage.
