A fully funded PhD position (starting in the Fall semester of 2024) is available in the Department of Nuclear, Plasma & Radiological Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA (https://npre.illinois.edu/). Requirements:
* B.S./M.S. degree in Physics, Materials Science, or Nuclear Engineering
* Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English
* The selected candidate should be motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic, and capable of working in a team.
Other desirable skills:
* Experience in molecular dynamics and ab initio codes
* Experience in DFT and MD calculations, or/and Machine learning
* Programming skills (Python and C++)
* Preferred in multi-scale modeling (optional)
