Recruiting PhD students for 2024 and 2025 in the area of Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing and Big Data Systems

The research group of Prof. Wing Cheong Lau in the Department of Information Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking new PhD students for the Academic Year 2024 and 2025 in the following research areas:

1. Systems/ Software/ Network Security and Privacy

2. Design, Performance Analysis and Implementation of  Systems for Distributed Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Big Data Processing

Applicants should have strong academic records, solid technical background and passionate interest in one or more of the following areas:

- Cybersecurity and Hands-on System/ Software Hacking experience
- Program Analysis and Verification
- Large-scale Software/ System Building/ Proto-typing
- Networking Systems/ Protocols Design and Implementation
- Distributed Systems and Parallel Processing
- Machine Learning, Mathematical Optimization, Graph theory and algorithms
- Stochastic Modeling and Performance Analysis
