At this era of rapid development of science and technology caused society complexity, the issue on how to strength country is enthusiastically debated. The government takes an even greater role in stimulating the advance of the civilization. Some people suggest that government should ignore the challenges since there are different interests of each group. As far as I am concerned, I wholeheartedly agree with that only by tolerating challenges from the citizens, can the government play an effective role in maintaining the stability of society, making self-improvement and thus contributing to the development of the material civilization and spiritual civilization.

What is the goal of the government? It is necessary for government to serve its citizens rather than to rule them. Therefore, if challenged by the citizens, governments should treat them seriously. As a matter of fact, most people anticipate that there is no challenge at all in a nation. Sometimes, it do occurs because either the government really do well and thus no opposing voice, or people dare not question governments. For the former, it is impossible since that there are invariably some problems plaguing the society. For the latter, government would never make progress, what's worse, it will cause bed result for the government.

Moreover, the public has the capacity to make significant policies by themselves. For one thing, as once said by the president of America, Thomas Jefferson, and I paraphrase that when it falls to him to select government without newspaper, or newspaper without government, he would have no hesitation to select the latter. From this point of view, we can find that the public really have enormous potential and can assist the government. Moreover, it is obvious that the government is not always on the right side. A telling example is what happened in the Soviet Union. In the 1920s, the government in Soviet Union ignored the welfare of the public, while emphasized merely on the development of industry. The result was the failure of its policy.

Furthermore, history has witnessed the process that not merely the power of governments gradually diminished, but most importantly, increasing number of the public is entitled to participate in make policies and the political activities. In most developed countries, congresses share the right in deciding the important instructions. In the old times, only the kings, queens, or sovereigns have the right to determine how to regulate the countries. Nowadays, as the advance of the civilization, more people have the right to take part in making important decision. For example, in the U.S. , citizens are enfranchised to vote the president of the whole nation. In addition, even the normal individual can question of the president in most developed countries.


Admittedly, some people might question the point of view above. They will cite some trouble-making people. I concede there are really such kinds of people in every nation. These people disperse rumors and even agitate the public to oppose the government. However, in a flourishing society, they will be repulsed by the majority of the public, and they will collapse of themselves eventually. If these challenges do occur in a society, the government should make corresponding policies in order to handle them. From this point of view, the government can improve itself.

In the final analysis, the government should treat the challenge from its citizens since the public has the right and capacity to participate in the policy. Moreover, government should make every means to empower the citizens to take part in the political activities. Only by this way, can the government maintain the stability of society and well-being of its citizen and accomplish the its goal.

The government takes an even greater role in stimulating the advance of the civilization. 这句前不见古人后不见来者，怎么就出来了呢？Some people suggest that government should ignore the challenges since there are different interests of each group. 这句也有些多余了，呵呵，你的开头要减肥As far as I am concerned, I wholeheartedly agree with that only by tolerating challenges from the citizens, can the government play an effective role in maintaining the stability of society, making self-improvement and thus contributing to the development of the material civilization and spiritual civilization.

In the final analysis, the government should treat the challenge from its citizens properly  since the public has the right and capacity to participate in the policy. Moreover, government should make every means to empower the citizens to take part in the political activities. Only by this way, can the government maintain the stability of society and well-being of its citizen and accomplish the its goal.
总的来说思路是比较清晰的，但是个人认为对主题的论证不够紧密，你说只有。。。。才。。。。，那为什么会这样呢，接受质疑和挑战对给这个国家带来什么呢？
