The only responsibility of corporate executives, provided they stay within the law, is to make as much money as possible for their companies.
What are the responsibilities of corporate executives has long been a controversial issue mostly discussed about. While some people insist in putting more obligations on them, I tend to agree with the speaker that seeking for most profit is the sole and actual responsibility for them.

First of all, once a company is doing business, its final object will be no other but to achieve the profit's maximum, which naturally falls on the executive's shoulders to fulfill. By investing on a company, its owners or shareholders' intentions are invariably to produce more money, which decides that they would never use a executive that does not help them to achieve this goal. Also, out of the requirement of living in the fierce competition of market economy, more profit is the assurance for a company to survive, which also make it the responsibility for an executive. Though we may see some behaviors of the executives that seem to be contrary to their pursuit of profit, it just became more inevident but actually never changed. For example, by donating money for charity, heightening employee's stipends and so on, the executives in fact set up their companies' good figures in the society and thus in the consumers' mind, which finally lead to more profit.

Besides, executives' aiming at making profit is mostly beneficial to people and to the society.  To make as more profit as possible, they are driven to invent new products, improve the quality of products, and to better custom-services, which all indeed help to forward the society's development and heighten people's life level. Without those companies that seek profit, many of our research results could not be turned in to real products. History of scientific progress is replete with examples of this, such as the telephone, the television as well as the personal computers we use today are all the products of those company's profit-seeking.

On the contrary, laying too much restrictions and obligations on them may in turn does harms to the society development. Not only more restrictions that impede a company's making most profit are violating to the market economic principles, but also they may harm the companies' healthy development, which may in turn do bad to the society. Making less profit, the company tends to lay off some employees, or to lower their stipends, which actually harm the interest of people living in the society.
They may also reduce the funds locating on improving the quality of products or developing new products, which also negatively affect people's life level's heightening.

Nevertheless, corporate executives should always keep in mind that the profit-seeking is a long-time process rather than a instant and direct one. Therefore, to really fulfill the task of making money as much as possible, they should concern with some societal problems that may be relevant to their companies' long-run development. To illustrate this, environment problem is a proper one. For instant, if  an executive of a paper-making company is short-eyesighted, to make more profit directly seen, he tends to ignore the dealing with abandoned water because it may cost a lot of money. However, though profit-making contemporarily, this behavior will undoubtedly cause criticism from the society, which will infamize his company and thus in the long run his company may lose in the competition and even bankrupt finally. Therefore, taking some societal responsibilities are necessary for an long-eyesighted executive to better achieve the maximum of profit in the long run.

To sum up, seeking the most profit is the sole and final responsibility for a corporate executive because of the essence of business and the requirement of their company's development. As long as an executive avoids focusing only on direct profit, profit-seeking is more beneficial than harmful to the society.

What are the responsibilities of corporate executives has long been a controversial issue mostly discussed about. While some people insist in putting more obligations on them, I tend to agree with the speaker that seeking for most profit is the sole and actual responsibility for them.

First of all, once a company is doing business, its final object will be no other but to achieve the profit's maximum, which naturally falls on the executive's shoulders to fulfill.[这样说感觉好象是“肩膀去实现“。就说这个责任很自然地落在了经理人的肩膀上就行了。] By investing on[invest感觉是及物动词。] a company, its owners or shareholders' intentions are invariably to produce more money, which decides that they would never use a executive that does not help them to achieve this goal. Also, out of the requirement of living in the fierce competition of market economy, more profit is the assurance for a company to survive, which also make it the responsibility for an executive.[在市场经济条件下立稳脚跟,这点说的不错。 ] Though we may see some behaviors of the executives that seem to be contrary to their pursuit of profit, it just became more inevident but actually never changed. For example, by donating money for charity, heightening employee's stipends and so on, the executives in fact set up their companies' good figures in the society and thus in the consumers' mind, which finally lead to more profit.

Besides, executives' aiming at making profit is mostly beneficial to people and to the society. To make as more profit as possible, they are driven to invent new products, improve the quality of products, and to [provide]better custom-services, which all indeed help to forward the society's development and heighten people's life level.

Not only more restrictions that impede a company's making most profit are violating to[coor=red][这个to多余了。] the market economic principles, but also they may harm the companies' healthy development, which may in turn do bad to the society.

First of all, once a company is doing business, its final final 和上文的sole还是有区别的object will be no other but to no other than.....ingachieve the profit's maximum, which naturally falls on the executive's shoulders to fulfill.which in turn become executives' sole responsibility By investing on a company, its owners or shareholders' intentions are invariably to produce more money, which decides that they would never use a executive that does not help them to achieve this goal. Also, out of the requirement of living in the fierce competition of market economy, more profit is the assurance for a company to survive, which also make it the responsibility for an executive.

Not only more restrictions that impede a company's making most profit are violating to the market economic principles, 前半句有些乱,而且应该倒装but also they may harm the companies' healthy development, which may in turn do bad to the society. Making less profit, the company tends to lay off some employees, or to lower their stipends, which actually harm the interest of people living in the society.
They may also reduce the funds locating on improving the quality of products or developing new products, which also negatively affect people's life level's heightening.

Nevertheless, corporate executives should always keep in mind that the profit-seeking is a long-time long-termprocess rather than a instant and direct one.
